OK,, know about this for years ,, (used to be suggested 6 months),,, so if most countries require this WHY don't they renew your passport 6 months early,,,,,DUHHH
I think it's only for U.S. citizen not for canadian as you need to be crazy to drive from Canada to Mexico. But yeah I don't know. !!! Maybe it's too hard ? lol
Never understood the 6 month rule some countries have, but we're good. Considering home much fun TTR is suppose to be, if there was a 6month all inclusive pkg out there, someone on CCC would have discovered it already. lol Then again, when it was over, you'd have elephant feet, and set off breathalyzers from a hundred yards from all the booze, and there would be a world wide shortage of hydrogenated oil product from all the body shots.
The 6 month rule is not mandatory but on the Government of Canada website they "strongly recommend" you travel to Mexico with a passport that does not expire for 6 months. For the cost of renewal its not worth the hassle if you get refused entry. We always make sure to have at least 6 months left on ours. We also register our travel no matter where we are going. Register travel details at travel.gc.ca and they can find and contact you in case of an emergency, such as, civil unrest, natural disasters, etc.
