I haven't been, but I can give you three reasons why in areas that I think need improvement. 1. Patyo's. Saying it needs improvement is probably the wrong wording, because many like it for what it is. A dance floor hangout place. I don't dance, have no Desire to dance, and likely will never dance. I like watching dancing, listening to that music, and my wife likes to dance, but it's not going to be a selling point for me. The area it would need improvement for me would be location. It looks like you are in the middle of Motel 6 there, and not Cancun. If it was more out by the beach I would like it a lot more. 2. Beach, it looks like it sucks, and most reports confirm. 3. The look of the resort itself. It looks like a cheap roadside hotel. I'll admit the place we have stayed is probably only a half star better, but it is better to look at, and has better sight lines. That being said one of the fun things about vacation is meeting new people, and forming friendships. That makes Temptation very appealing, and is always in the back of our mind to try. Going on the Boobs Cruise is a nice compromise for us for staying at a "more vanilla" resort, and you don't have to be a Temptation guest to experience that. It's just we get one trip a year if we are lucky, and there are enough bad reports to keep us away.
There are more of us who are more than willing to answer any question that we can ! It is true that there are a few on this site that have shot snarky comments that are not necessary and can be insulting/hurtful. However, you can trust that there are many more of us that will try our best to get you an answer (and hopefully a laugh too) ! As you get to know the site and the people who are currently active, you figure out who you do and don't want to start a conversation with. Using this great site is a privilege, not a right, and I am sure that Steve would tell you that everyone is equal. Just because you are new does not make you less important, and because others spend their life on this site :typing: does not make them more important. Hope that helps, Jeff & Jill
Yes, thanks for the reply. I guess there will always be those few that will have the negative attitude no matter what!!
Things I love: 1. The atmosphere. We love that the people are generally easy going, the adult vibe, and you can always hear laughter. 2. The people. A huge part of the atmosphere. Most of the people seem to be easy going and there isn't a lot of snobs judging the office worker bodies, which is refreshing after we would spend time in Vegas pools and hearing a lot of snarky comments. 3. The affordability. Although I thought we were 100% committed to a July trip, some of our traveling group is now considering a trip to Puerto Vallarta. I pulled up some packages and swallowed hard. I am doing my damnedest to Tempt them. Things that could use improvements: 1. The beach. While I don't spend a lot of time on the beach during the days, I do like to go for walks and the beach could be better. It could also be worse. 2. The accommodations. Our first room, an ocean view suite, had only a make-up mirror in the bathroom. Not good for two people getting ready. Room service as part of the all-inclusive would be, well, all-inclusive. Lastly, a bottle or two of good stuff in the rooms would be a nice touch. 3. Ditch the old, iffy looking plastic cups at the bar. While I have a Bubba mug for my water and frozen drinks, I drink beer in those cups and it would be nice to not worry about the chipped edges. For me, the things I love about the resort FAR exceed the things I would like to see improved.
I couldn't agree more regarding bottles in the room.. Our last trip we spent most of our time in our room.. didn't really party and having to go to the liquor store was a bitch.. I hear many other resorts have liquor in the rooms and wish TTR would do the same.
We stayed at the Royal Playa del Carmen three years ago and the room was stocked with (unopened!) Don Julio and other good stuff that I didn't care about because, well, Don Julio!
I really liked that resort. However, it could get a bit boring at night and it was way expensive compared to Temptation. It was good though, because it was our honeymoon and some of the high end touches were nice. Plus we had an ocean front room which was amazing.
I couldn't agree more. The place was gorgeous, the food was great, the beach was nice, and the night life was boring. My cousin upgraded to one of the presidential suites that had its own pool, so the nightlife for us was spent skinny dipping in his pool. If it wasn't for his pool, we might have gone stir crazy at night. For an introduction to the area, it was top notch, but I'd rather spend a week in Temptation for $1,000 less and have more fun.
Thank goodness Steve has spoken some sense. I have noticed from being a regular reader (although I don't comment that often) that a percentage of you repeaters really are horrid clicky people, and I am glad I had the sense not to bite at your smarmy know-it-all comments when I joined this site 18 months ago or we probably would never have came to TTR for our first trip. Now we are looking forward to our return this may to meet some of the fantastic people we met last year. Instead of taking time to write the usual "We've heard this question a million times before" Why not try just take the same amount of time answering the bloody question, as you guys are the most qualified to do so. Is CCC not meant to be an informative friendly place for us all to build our excitement before we arrive for our hard earned holiday? Give up all the bitching. :daveandmo: Peace and love xxx
