I'm in with the email idea..

 

Thank you to remembering me to leave my wallet and card at home, and bring the less money I can.

That's why I'm never alone by myself in the resort itself, always with our friend or people we meet.

It's the first time in my 4 years travelling ( 6 trips ) I read a story like this..

Maybe next time keep your hand in your pocket and go see the security in the resort.

Stay out of the trouble it's only the way you go !!


+ The problem with the cops, it's either the resort fault, and you should not point the resort for what happen with the cops / Jail.
It's really bad, but remember you're in a foreign country, the laws here ( canada ) and mexico are completly different.

If the guy didn't touch her, sorry but she didn't have the right to push him.. ( I don't take the single guy side. ) but as we only know one side of the story,

The best thing is maybe Steve should close this thread... It's going no where, and just scare people.

In fact.. I just ignore them or I just move or go elsewhere.
She was the one getting physical at the first place, sorry to heard that but that's the truth.

Next time you'll know how to handle those situation.

Unless there are tangible economic consequences, I doubt they will care. A few emails probably won't do much or a deleted post on a Facebook page. I might be wrong though, doesn't hurt trying.

Who is actually going to boycott them over this? That is the true question. If people actually didn't show up and they felt it, then they might reconsider. I doubt they would otherwise.

 

Boycott?? I guess you should be first Coolio.. Maybe if you stop going to TRR.. Everyone else might follow.. Well not me.. But everyone is sure to follow a Cool Cat like you!!!

 

Truthfully , not too many ( hardcore peeps here), but some were already on the fence about being secure in Mexico and it may change their minds.

BUT ...................... if other incidents occur and a trend is seen , it would have a devastating effect.

Their ''newbie'' additions will be greatly affected if this gets posted on Trip adviser.

Another point,,, If they were to come on here and ''Apologize '' and offer the OP , say 2 free weeks of his choosing , that would go a long way in public relations and be worth more then any paid advertising they could due.( ''economic benefit'' )



( I say 2 free weeks cause resorts/airlines ,, rarely give cash refunds)

O.K. its simple as this, if someone, wife, girlfriend, son, daughter gets touched by someone without their permission then im gonna kick their face in. You should feel the same if you care about who you are with. I've been to this resort 5 times as a single male, never a problem. On this trip with my beautiful lady I had a very similar situation as the folks who have posted and lucky for the a hole who tried to grab her ( regardless of mexico jail) backed off. Vacation or not. No one has permission to touch unless she, he, or me say's so.

 

I never said I was going to boycott anyone.

I said they will likely not listen UNLESS there is a boycott, which obviously won't happen because most people don't care enough here to boycott.

They might send a few emails or complain on a Facebook page, but thats about it.

 

Why would Steve close the thread? Because someone doesn't like it? All thats been shared here are 1. Support for Ingram, 2. Ideas for how to help Ingram, 3. Some opinions on how safe anyone really is in Mexico. All valid points...

There has been some jawing back and forth but thats to be expected. I would like to see the more comments here the better, all the more to make sure those who come to TTR arent behaving in a way that leads to trouble. Safety in information and numbers. ...

No one should put their hands on anyone else at the resort.

I am assuming they have a zero tolerance policy and essentially fault the person who "uses hands first".

The resort probably got burned in previous fights before that escalated when they didn't address them sufficiently.

They are probably just kicking out anyone who engages in physical behavior regardless these days.
