F*ck You Temptations – Please Read!

My wife(Julie) and I went down to Temptations for our 5th Year Wedding Anniversary. This was our 8th time at the resort. We booked as Premier as we have friends who granted us beneficiary status. Our trip was supposed to be Feb 2nd – 9th

First few days were Golden as usual, met lots of great people, enjoyed the sun, had some drinks, and stayed up late.

On Thursday , Feb 5th We rented the Temptations yacht with some friends, came back around 5pm and had some drinks at the pool bar.

At the pool bar some drunk single guy started bothering Julie. I saw it out of the corner of my eye but left it alone as she’s a tough girl and can handle herself. This guy kept on persisting, finally she pointed me out and said ‘That’s my husband over there, I’m married, fuck off’

She then came over to stand by me where I was talking with people. Sure enough, single drunk dude comes wondering on over. Started calling her names and insulting me. I honestly didn’t even hear what he was saying. Julie had enough, told him to fuck off ,and pushed him. He then pushed her back, I grabbed him, he fell down on his back and then he laid there kicking. Security rushed in and broke it up. Not a punch was thrown…

Security comes in and hauls him away. I go back to the bar and order a beer.

10 mins later security comes back and wants me to go to the front for a statement, I oblige.

Drunk single dude is at the front and I hear security asking if he wants to press charges. Cops are there, handcuff me and I’m off to Jail. Apparently since I’m the big guy I must have started the whole thing. Julie asks the cops if she could come along as she didn’t know where they were taking me. They let her come along in the car.

Get to Jail, they throw me in a cell, take down no information; they have no clue who I am.

Next, they take Julie into the back room to start talking money. She tells them she only has $100 on her as we just got off the boat. That’s not enough money, so they throw her in a cell too. She wasn’t even arrested in the first place! But hey, it’s Mexico they can do whatever they want.

The cops tell us $4000 or you can wait and talk to the embassy on Monday, it was a Thursday at the time.

We spend the night in jail, no food, water… I was still in a bathing suit and Julie in a bikini with a coverup. They actually handcuffed her to the bar most the night because she was being too loud. (**Remember this is my wedding anniversary)

Next morning they bring Julie into the private room and start hitting her up for how much money she could get and how quickly. They don’t even talk to me about it as they know they can extract more from her. Long story short, they took every dollar she had in her purse, left her with bus fare to go to the hotel and get the rest of our money, and then empty our ATM. She eventually comes back and pays them off, the amount is embarrassing, I was never involved with the negotiations.

We finally get back to the hotel after being relieved of thousands of dollars, and guess what? Temptations cut our wristbands and kick us out. NO REFUND! We were never able to talk to anyone; the only story management heard came from the drunk single dude.

So there we are, broke, no place to stay, still in the same outfits from the day before.

We managed to find another resort to stay at and eventually got home safely. Since then I’ve contacted Premier and they tell us to call the management, we call the management and they tell us to call premier. Nobody will return our calls or emails. They absolutely stole our money, wrecked our anniversary, and it seems that we can’t do a thing about it. Not to mention the thousands we paid to the cops after being arrested for absolutely no reason.

I have 10 people that saw this whole thing go down, so there is no shortage of witnesses. If anyone was around the pool on Feb 5th, please chip in if my story doesn’t match yours.

I’ve NEVER been so fucked over in my whole life.

I don’t know if I should start firing up a lawyer on this or what? I’ve never dealt with a situation so messed up.

 

Well if she pushed him, that's an assault. If he was being a problem, you should have gone to security and advised. It's not a crime to talk shit. But you can't push people. He can claim self defense.

 

Damn.. I feel for you.. I guess it could happen to anyone. So sorry you had to go threw all that mess..

 

There's one side of the story here too. Keep that in mind. Maybe everything happened that way. Maybe it didn't. You can't get in fights in other countries.

 

Well, anyone who was there Feb 5th by the pool please chime in.

 

Dude I'm in serious shock for you guys. Thats horrible. Hope it gets resolved, but I know nothing will make that right.. Sorry that happened at all.

 

did you report this to the embassy or resort management since the incident?

Listen I understand the guy was being a dick, however that never gave you or her the right to get physical. Once he makes contact you can then defend yourself. Security should have been notified before it went this far though. At first sign the guy was unruly a report to security would have ended this.

Its really horrible this happened to you, no question. The resort should have gotten your side of it and I would likely file for a refund through whatever travel site you used and file for any travel insurance you have and go directly to the Embassy.

I am sorry you had to go through this, I wish you the best in getting this resolved quickly.

 

We're having no luck with the resort, they just give us the run around or pawn it off on another person. Waiting for a call back from their PR Rep, it's been two days. We've had friends and other members try to get something done too. We did not contact the embassy, there's not much they could do at this point.

 

didn't the pool staff do anything? The best thing would have been to walk away but I agree if anyone was to get in my wifes face I would be the first to be there and not thinking of the concequenses. I hope everything works out for the best and this is only an isolated incident since this will be our first trip to TTR
