You're all wrong, widgets are midget Hungarian migrant sex trade workers. They travel from European city to city plying their wares and setting up wifi hotspots. I thought everyone knew that! I may be bored at work.....
Thats what we paid for 9 nights for our trip May 2014 in January. $2450.00 for 9 nights including airfare with Orbits. Then two days later saw someone suggested chaptickets, so I did the stupid thing of looking. It was $250 cheaper...ugg. So I emailed Orbits and received a very nice email telling me their price guarantee only works for hotel stays not combination Air/Hotel bookings.... So I guess you can add "crappy price guarantees" to the list of, chair hogs, smokers, photo creepers, air conditioning woes, single guys, electrifying fun holes, lack of use of the cigar bar, guys in shorts and flip flops at the Italian place, poor entertainment staff...lol Still wouldn't waist our vacation any place else
Now knowing this, the post is much easier to understand substituting the proper term for widget back in: Suggesting prices of anything should get less the closer you get to a certain date is also fraught with a lot of variables you have to factor in. If I have 100 midget Hungarian migrant sex trade workers to sell by a certain date my pricing would depend on things like historical averages. March - May are almost at or close to capacity for example, I would be less likely to worry about selling out and increase prices as the date approached whereas perhaps October or November I'd be dropping prices as the date closed. If I've got 20 midget Hungarian migrant sex trade workers left close to the sell by date I might drop the price as demand is obviously low, if I've got 2 or 3 midget Hungarian migrant sex trade workers left then chances are I've already covered my margins and anything else is gravy, demand is high, supply low, they're now twice the price.
Prices don't really change much for us. We're paying relatively the same price as we did in 2011 for our first trip as we are now (maybe £100 dearer). We're doing referral next trip and it's costing a lot more, but that's only due to flight costs (booking flight and hotel separately is expensive for us!). We're doing referral because the dates we wanted were all sold out in January for April if you can believe that!
It is going to get worse, if we all keep raving about it on here and instantly telling newbies the secrets that were gleamed over the years. Next thing y'know newbies (scared overwhelmed) armed with that knowledge, bring/recruit crew from home or on Facebook...(usually boring people)....think they are ''cool in crowd" and know all the ropes, tips and tricks.....but they are taking up rooms and selling out hotel. Bookings are now coming in waves of groups. (In this age of facebook) TTR knows this and is capitalizing by raising rates. Next thing is, next trip the crew is now grown into a gang. Totally different vibe. (10-20-30 twobies and newbies all together who think they know everything and own the place...fun WOW) Spend most of their time in tight clusters and want special service for their 'group' ( the only groups that truly matter are CCC organically grown groups that generally have multi repeater vets at the core) and now NO ROOMS for the people who made the place what it is. (becuz we all know it was the pioneers from BBG years and early days of TTR who set the tone, attitude, vibe and all- around Eden like atmosphere of Mecca) In the early days it was super cool to pay it forward to help newcomers and preserve the culture....but now free flowing info is backfiring in multiple manifestations. And we are boning ourselves If you are a member you bump those rooms open, and can still influence the status quo culture. so some people are looking at the guarnteed rsservation and room rate. And yet members are looked at as lepers on here.
