Our experience is that the front desk will NOT give you change in anything other than pesos. Same for change in the store.
You can easily get 1$ bills at the sexy pool or at night at Paty'O, I have always done it, they are glad to do it cuz they know it would end up with them eventually, although, I never asked them for the full amount back if I am breaking a 20 I ask for 15 back.
Hey that info is on the down low only seasoned vets know about....tell too many and then I won't be able to do it anymore
Agreed scratch my last comment that never happened, I always look else where to get my money exchanged
We had some small bills the first time we went, but mostly all $20s. The small bills went pretty fast, and we never had a problem at any restaurant getting change of a $20, typically they went to the bartender at the restaurant.
We didn't have many small bills on our last trip. I would just give a 20 at breakfast to our waiter and get him to give me 1's. Worked great.
