Booking a popular month just 2-3 months out wont cut it usually. We book no later than 4-5 months out, and have paid within $20 of the same price per night the last 3 years. Never have paid more than $168 a night. I wouldnt even consider paying $300 a night. Crazy.
we use are timeshare, so for aug we are paying $1,837.70 for 2 just in air & AI and we can have a free upgrade to a jacuzzi room
Cancun in general is not getting any cheaper - like most said above book early or pay big (hard to find rooms anywhere for March right now). Try Orbitz and Expedia on a Tuesday - the last 3 trips were thru Expedia though saved hundreds this year with Orbitz. October is easily cheapest time of year due to possible weather. best of luck

We get stuck paying top dollar every trip. Amanda's job only allows us to go in march and for x-mas/new years. We always go for 10 days to make paying the high air line price worth it. Even as member we have never made it down for less than $3500 room and flights from Dallas TX. It kills me when I look at other post of people staying 10 days for under $2000 in the not so crowed months. Oh well have to pay to play as they say.
my parents bought the timeshare and put me and my brothers on it, so i didn't have to put any $$ into it, just get to use it
Ok so now I understand, your parents forked out thousands so you can get a discount. not trying to pick on you but just get accurate and true figure to compare.
