With the buck being around 80 cents has that held back anyone from Canada from going ?ive been on the fence about my May trip hoping the buck will go up by summer but by the looks of it that's wishful thinking on my part .:ranting1: Has anyone second guess going cause of this?
Right now the low price of oil is offsetting the currency difference but if oil rises and the Canadian dollar does not you may see a 2 or 3% increase in packages. Even on a $5000 vacation package that's only around $100-150 so I don't think it'll effect us much. We're actually paying quite a bit less for our April trip, even though we're going 10 days rather than the 9 we did last year. Mind you we went over the Easter break last year too.
The hubs and I were just talking about this last night. We are confirmed to go but we did the things a little different this year so the price was different than normal. I just happen to look on retag and the price for when we booked is $1000 more than two weeks ago.
well since I can not spell ..the dollar is at a all time low and as per what Glen and Monique said really have to jump at it when it peaks this year .
Not looking to start something....but it is not at an all time low. it would have to fall quite a bit more. all time low....0.62. Jan 21/ 2002 And we have a federal election this year, so I predict the dollar stabilizes at about 0.72, which still is piss poor I admit
We are still going, cost a little more on alpharooms because its in U.S money. But airfare was cheaper this year in canadian money. Will use pesos when in Mexico. Boobs Cruise will cost us more also in U.S money. Overall its running around the same as previous years. But really dreading our Disney trip in July, damn dollar better go up before then.
Bank was charging just shy of $1.30 CDN last week for $1 USD when I checked...yeah it hurts and messes with our vaca plans
