Glad to hear that, my better half is nervous about Mexico (safety wise), so leaving the resort once we're there probably isn't going to happen.

The Bluetooth speaker people are rude. Not everyone wants to hear your music save it for your room. As for the music at the pool and paty O I just can't remember half of it way too much fun partying with friends.
Once you spend a little time in the area you will feel completely at ease traveling up and down highway 307 via the ADO buses from Cancun to Playa del Carmen to Tulum! There are so many great places to experience! You'll likely be hooked just like we are! Joe
I agree you.....he falls into a rut and it becomes "DJ paint by numbers". He is a good guy, but his pride in his craft is wanting frequently. My wife spent 12 yrs (in the 80's thru the early 90's) DJing in a Rock/metal bar on Friday nights and her pride was such that she searched for obscure requests for bar regulars thruoit the week and was thrilled when she could fulfill requests. off she'd go with vigor on nights, when she had new a treasure that she knew would make a patron smile. And of course this professionalism led to more work doin private events (birthdays, weddings, retirements etc.) not sure your contact, but keep me.posted if it works out for ya
If she can leave a copy of Saxon's Denim and Leather with the DJ, there's at least one dude in March who would be overwhelmingly grateful for the random, obscure, but entirely appropriate addition to the playlist.
Luv it.....an anthem for aging metalheads We saw Saxon in a much loved, long gone Toronto venue, in about '85. Very underrated great band! You may appreciate a smug story from last Halloween. We tried to entice Sexy Pool DJ to play Y&T Mean Streak. with a pained expression, he shook his head No before even trying to search for it. MarIlyn brushed past his hands and quickly scrolled on his lap top and found the song. Hee still shook his head and protested some excuse. Later that afternoon, when the band was playing on the pool deck, during the 2nd set, they surprisd us by doin a decent job of A different Y&T tune. Unbeknowst to her, I had told'em about our frustration just tryin to get a song played, while doing some Fireball shots wIth the band while they were setting up gear. Had no idea they had Y&T in their repotoirre (sic?) And Marilyn, outta of the loop, was stunned when they broke into "Lipstick and Leather'. So we reveled together in the middle of the sexy pool, smiled, devil-saluted the boys, and knew We had given ''THE MAN" ( in our strange way) the proverbial metaphorical finger.....like true metalheads.....'who still got an axe to grind!'
You are right....travelling buy bus or collectivo is safe and easy and the conduit to some great experiences. Our new obsession is Puerto Morelos for a day trip.
so are they really playing cassettes? cd's? How about sharing some of your favorite tunes digitally? Buy a cheap flash drive, copy your music to it, and leave it with the dj. Maybe he will start to incorporate guest music if his library is expanded. That is, if he's not using technology that is too old.
