You know what's annoying to me????????

And honestly, I expect some people to be pissy with me about this...BUT...what really grinds my gears is the CONSTANT argument between members and non-members. Normally I don't ever say anything because in the grand scheme of things....each to their own. But I would definitely say reading through all the threads, the arguing between members and non-members is the most frustrating part. Everyone chooses to either be a member or not for their OWN reasons. And what drives me crazy is the constant "one upping" each other to prove their point. seriously, leave the damn pissing match out of it.

Now having said that......The second time we went to TTR we did the premier pitch and I found it not to be worth it at the time because the gentleman was not listening to what I was saying or the type of questions I had. I wanted time to think about it and discuss it with my husband. But instead he needed an answer at the exact moment and he was very condescending. It turned me off completely and from then on I did not attend any premier pitches again. Please note though, that the reason for not taking the membership at that time was because of how the pitch was presented to us....not about the benefits of being a member.

HOWEVER, now going into our 5 trip we are questioning if it is something we would be more interested in. So we have decided to do a referral week and see how it would differ for us compared to other trips. I am also willing to attend the premier pitch again.

With all this in mind, I need to be aware of where I live, the cost for flights, how often we go, the fact that my kids are only 5 & 8, etc. I plan to make the decision based on the referral week and also speaking with other members while at TTR. I feel this will give me the best information in order to make an informed decision that works for the hubs and I.

Truthfully, I see both sides of the coin and why each are so protective of their views, but in the end, we still need to be considerate of the fact that others may have a different perspective that was not seen before without the internal arguing.

There so many angles to your comments that could be exploited...BuT I will leave it at you are entitled to your opinion and so is evryone else.
Therein is the origin of the arguing, which I will add has been occurring long before you registerd on here.
Personally I will not remain silent when erroneous info, and obvious falshoods are dispersed on here and then innocently carried forward as truth by laymen.

Wow, there does seem to be very strong opinions on both sides with regards to this. As I said in an earlier post, to each there own, and as someone who is looking forward to his first visit, my only hope is that; 1) The staff doing the presentations do take a polite no graciously, and 2) that you are not made to feel like a 2nd class citizen (by the resort not the guests) if you decline the presentation, and are not a member.

    I know you weren't attacking....just venting frustrations.
and you are like a lot of others.
Due to the unknown future plans of our favorite happy place, tensions are runnin' high and fear is risin', of what is going to be.

there are worries and concerns in a few different directions.
some feel that they may be left out. Some feel that membership is the bane of the changes.
some just want to blame someone for their fear. Some want to try to stifle membership sales And somehow our Mecca will be left alone.
We are all very passionate about 'Our Place'. And our place is changing. And change brings fear to some.

But alot are just like you, who previously slagged and dismissed the notion of buying in.
And now possibly see the future and are curiously trying to react and adapt to the perceived vision Of change.

This bickering has been waging for years, but has intensified recently due the current tumult.
And new ppl to the debate are getting into the discussion mid-battle. Some are genuine nubees to CCC and TTR and some are long time TTR breathen who are now taking an interst in the topic. Perhaps you are one of them.

A good deal many (anti members) have now purchased in the last 2 yrs and the wave is getting bigger. (.I have routinely been surprised at just who is sporting a white band now or who is considrring over the last year) many of these ppl were anti-membership at one time.

The worm is turning and therefore these threads on this topic are always filled with acrimony.
it is the nature of the beast.

Personally I'd be OK if no one else evrs buys in.
would be better for us existing members.
But I would never give up ours.

I love the fact that some of our couple friends are members. We all go together and we get some of those world class perks too. LOL

Of course you can basically get the same thing with a $20 tip. HAHAHA
    But I digress.

There are plenty of spirited discussions on a number of things. Many of us on here are longtime long-distance friends...and sometimes we don't all agree on everything. Just like at home when friends and I get into discussions about our sports teams (two of my sisters married Cubs fans...Cubs!). Some of my friends don't vote for the right people...and we discuss that over a beer all the time. It's ok to disagree over things...it makes the world go around...and almost always we stay friends. That is, unless you're a troll doing a CancunCare fly-by. Marshe and Donald are two of the members I love reading the most...and none of us agree all the time. I wouldn't sit through a Premier pitch for any price...but if that's what others feel like doing...that's cool with me.
