looks like someone had a bad experience with Contract at TTR....I am worried that my wife will push me to put us into a contract next time we had to Cancun, but for Desire tho...but in my opinion its still not worth it unless used every year
We luv our membership....but U are right. if you aren't goin to use it frequently.....it makes no sense and don't buy it.
. Jamie, there's another aspect now, which is why Stacia & I got our membership. All the benefits of the travel networks (RCI & SFX), now. Killer deals on other places, not just TTR/DRM, e.g. I booked a trip to Maui for Stacia & I with Sharon & Ivan at a place called the Maui Schooner Resort, at which place we had a bad-ass 2-bedroom/2 bath condo in Weilea, about 5 minutes from Little Beach (you should look it up), and using the SFX I got that, on Maui, for $459 for the WEEK! Not per night, for the entire week. Love it. I got a week at Grand Case Beach Club the first time, NOT using TTR time in exchange, for $1,555/week, rather than the going rate of ~$5,000, which I thought most welcome. The second time, I opted to trade in a week and the price point went down to around $650! We luvs us some travel, y'all. Especially to the places which have 1 of the Top 10 Nude Beaches in the World (according to Trip Advisor --- they ARE good for something, LOL!).
Your right, seems to me people that don't know the whole story get their panties in a knot...there are so many other perks that we plan on taking advantage of.. RCI, worldpass, SFX... and our kids can take advantage of all this also.. Its not just about TTR.. we upgraded our membership this trip and are pretty happy with it...
And that's the truth. We used our membership this year with RCI and purchased a cruise in April to take the kids on spring break... but really we just purchased for the white towels... LOL!
Question about Bankruptcy Just curious what happens to your club membership and nigts owed if the company goes under, whether legitimate bankruptcy or a strategic one. Is there anything in the fine print about it? Or would that even matter? I don't know anything about Original Resorts. I don't even know if they are public or private.
I need to check the contract but I think I remember seeing something like that. Gets deposited to RCI as weeks. I don't see RCI going under.
