What are the must bring items? Or any little tips that we might not think of? I've read somewhere on here to bring Lysol but I can't remember what for and something for the air in the rooms. Possibly for the mustiness of the rooms. (I've searched for the thread and can't find it). Any tips at all would be greatly appreciated. Whatever you've found that you were really happy that you brought or things you wished you had. Also, we are only there for 4 nights (I know, not long enough!) so we are going to try to not bring a checked bag. So where can we buy items that we can't bring in the carry on bags? We'd also like to avoid having to get our driver to stop at Walmart since our time is limited. You guys are the pros though so hopefully you can steer us in the right direction. Just want to make the best of our very short stay. Whats the best way to get to Isle Mujeres without doing a big tour? We'd like to head over one day and rent the golf carts. Thanks for your help! -Mrs. Beachaholic
Sunscreen for sure, too expensive there. Not much clothes as you will be in the pool for most of the day.

I've done 7 days in a carry on and still not worn everything I brought. You won't have any trouble! Some weird tips I've learned along the way: Consumer Reports rated Target's Up and UP brand sport sun screen, SPF 30, the best on the market. I burn easily, and this stuff really did work! They sell it in travel size, or you can divide a big tube into travel bottles. In the luggage department, you can find vacuum seal plastic bags for traveling. You don't have to use a vacuum, you just roll them to get the air out. I love them for cramming more in the carry-on. Dryer sheets packed in your suitcase help keep away the musty smell. If you have any of those "Do not eat this packet!" silica things that come the box with shoes and stuff, throw those in, too! You will need fewer "real clothes" than you think. You'll be in bathing suits all day, something for dinner, then theme wear most nights. Leave your shorts at home, but bring more lingerie than you can imagine you could possibly ever need. Trust me on this one!
Use USA Transfers from and to airport (link on this site). There are many resorts between airport and TTR so if you get on a group transfer w many stops could cost you extra hour of your vacation (each way). There is a resort gift shop and a couple of small conveinence/pharmacy stores across street where you could purchase most things. Walmart stop would be overkill for 4 day trip IMO. There is an Isla Mujeres ferry port down the road from TTR (believe we walked). Only use Ultramar (large blue and yellow). They are much faster and about same price. I would encourage you to take the Boobs Cruise if available while your there. You will not regret it. TIP. regardless of what the all inclusives claim about tips they are always good. We bring 100x $1 for basics (wet bills work fine at pool bar). Bring clothes you swear you would never have the confidence to wear. Ya'll will have a blast.
The below represents only John's opinion. The following is not a paid advertisement for Temptation Resort - Cancun. OK, sort of in reverse order. You can take the ferry over to Isla Mujeres and walk around for an afternoon, no problem. Easiest way I think. Ferry leaves/returns every 30 minutes or so? Someone can clarify that for you once you get there if it's not already in/on here at CCC. Usually, the easiest way to air out the room is simply that, air it out, blok open the door in and open the patio door to get air to move through, thus remoing the musty air. It works for about a day, which is perfect if you happen to get a musty room since you can do it again the next day. We've been a lot and never needed to bring Lysol and Stacia's got a sensitive nose for "stinky." Make SURE you bring a higher SPF factor for your boobs. Tanning your chi-chis is very cool, burning them hurts really bad. Don't risk it at all, it'll ruin your stay. Same thing goes for if you're going to wear a skimpier suit than you're used to at home or on other vacations. Burnin the kitty is mucho bad news. Sunglasses. But, you can guy those in the gift shot or over at Dragon mart across the street. Dragon Mart is also good for other things you forget, but pricey-pricey. It'gets the people who "Don't want to stop at Wal-MMart," just like you said. You pay for that.
Good luck with the just bringing a carry on. . Though the clothes don't take up much space, Terri could fill an entire suitcase just with shoes!
