Does ones social/ private life or sexuality pose an issue where you would get fired from your job in this day an age? Example: Jim at work is gay. That's ok. Boss Calls Bob into the office....ummm Bob we saw a picture of you and your wife at Cancuncare. Are you two swingers?? Bob says, "that's none of your business". Sorry Bob but you're fired! We can't have people here who "might" be swingers, even if we have no proof. You know that's illegal Bob and you have no rights!" But it's just cancuncare boss!! It's kind of like Facebook for partiers in cancun. This is wrongful dismissal! No Bob, you are sexual deviants and must be taught a lesson. Just can't see this happening. Sorry.
Its shows you are a Canadian ( same here), you obviously don't have friends from the Bible belt. CC spreads over many countries and cultures Next go to your pc take safe search off Google Temptation Resort Click on images Nice pics ''eh''
If you have a very public job, you bet your ass it matters! There are only two that I know of that seemed to get away with it. Mayor Marion Barry in DC and what's his name, the mayor of Toronto. Most others paid for it the hard way. On the other hand, if you are a welder, it's not going to matter. As in most matters, there is no "one size fits all" answer.
You obviously have no idea what happens when you are vetted for an executive promotion or have to go before the board to compete for advancement. You also obviously don't have a high ranking gov't job I know one local company who retains private investigators who dig deep, and the data uncovered is used for dismisssals and promotions. and then there are your enemies or nemesises. Some will do anything to get dirt on you and drive the bus over you stone cold. And in your lil imaginary sketch, it does happen, except the reason is a technicality and the employee nevers know all the info the company has on them. Just to add a peronal rule.....I have nevr used my employers computer or internet to check CCC. Not even as a guest. This site flags immediately. I do however actually log in on DennyP (a similiar travel message board) using my username on company PC. DennyP is a safe site for work and yet the regulars over there are way more wild than CCC gang. Most are Hedo vets. And avatar pictures are not an issue there
We get the politician part. To be honest, if your life is that public you shouldn't even be going to places like this, never mind being on here. Can't equate Marion Barry and Rob Ford's crack smoking antics to going to an adult only resort. Crack and drugs are illegal. Going to a resort no matter what happens there is not illegal. There is no comparison between the two.
No I don't know. I am an employer. I don't delve into people's private lives other than criminal behaviour and intent. I guess being Canadian I am somewhat bias to the fact that people's sexual lives are their own business and no one else's and that in our constitution sexual preference is a right and should be free from discrimination. I suppose human rights are different in the US. But do realize the world is full of religious zealots, who think it's their way or the highway.
The law making "swing clubs" illegal in Canada was struck down by the supreme court on December 22nd 2005 . There is nothing illegal about consenting adults having fun together or swing clubs . So they cant fire you based on telling you its illegal . I don't see the big deal . What you do in your own personal time is nothing to do with your employer as long as its not illegal and doesnt effect what you do during working hours . Now if your dancing around naked in Cancun wearing the company ball hat /t-shirt sporting a company logo bubba mug then that's a different ball game . :flagcanada:
How many teachers do you know that publicly admit to belonging to a swing club, ,,that still have a job ?
Weather they admit publicly what they do in there spare time is none of my business . But yes we do know numerous people in all walks of life , some with very high profile public oriented careers . Doctors , nurses firefighters , police services , military public service employees etc etc . All of them great decent people .
Not many. Because most people don't admit to or are open about it because it's really no ones business. Although I haven't heard of a teacher being fired for being in the LS. The only thing I ever hear is about teachers having sexual relations with minors, which I must stress again IS something illegal. But do find that there is still a stigma attached to the lifestyle. These days it's fine to be openly gay, but heaven forbid you and your spouse are in an open relationship. But with the amount of younger and younger people being accepting of an open lifestyle sexually, this stigma will sure fade the way homosexuality has. PS just adding I know swinging and infidelity is not illegal. At least in most places in North America.
