I usually use the handcuffs on someone else :aktion047: I think they rely on our basic Desire to not be overtly rude when unnecessary - and don't get me wrong, the woman wasn't rude by any stretch, just unable to accept no..... eventually I did simply get up and she followed and said something about we just had to go back to the desk so I could sign something that said she actually spoke to me, etc..... which was just a ruse to have another person ask me why I wasn't interested. They didn't need that signature after all. The funny thing is, if you talk to a member (as I did last night) it isn't necessarily a bad deal if you know you are going to be using a couple hundred nights in the next however many nights - that just isn't me.....
It is a good deal if you make it work for you and that's what you want. We have been members for several years.
we got sucked in the first time we went and it wasted around an hour and a half if not more...our agent was extremely surprised when we told him we are good with water...he did not let us go and kept pushing, second time we got to the main desk set with the nice lady on the side and it was just no thanks we are not interested was enough...
thats cause the lady on the side is the TTR front desk management/drops of love concierge , you actually have to go across the little hall to the other desks. maybe she was juust trying to direct you towards them ? the line was long once and the person at that desk signed me in. talking about the small desk attached to the long counter on the right.
We will be back for our 11th trip in April, and finally bought during the trip we took last September. As we typically go to TTR twice a year the value is there for us. Through working out the math (later, not drunk, clear head, lol) i dont really know that you sace any significant amount of money. However, we like the perks (served food at the pool, a bartender and drink concierge who attends to you, upgraded restaurant menu, reserved pool chair area) and have no beef with their presentation. Its their job, and if they are bad at it they obviously go away. As someone said above, it has a value if you're going to use it. If you are going to do it have a strategy. I had a number i was aiming for, and they hit it. Not drinking while there? Probably a good idea too, lol....
