So long story short...Our Feb 17th trip was going to be our 3rd and we had already dug out our well worn white and orange wristbands. Wife is a teacher so as the holiday involved the school holidays and 3 days of unpaid leave afterwards it's just a case of requesting the leave (a formality). Oh no... Her head mistress declined it and now we have no choice but to cancel. Sorry I know I promised a short story. Our flights can be changed for 25th July for 10 nights so not that bad but not as close as next month. Thinking of a 2 hotel stay this time, part1 in TTR then a few days to wind down somewhere else, that's where you guys and gals come in. Not looking for a quite hotel just somewhere in the centre of things for a bit of shopping etc. this sounds like it should be on trip advisor sorry dudes. We are both still upset that our 3rd trip next month has to be cancelled and she has even mentioned that she would resign if need be but that's a step too far.

If you want nice but still deals and right across street from shopping, try Westin Lagunamar. There is another Westin, Westin Resort and Spa, but it is way out at the very beginning of the hotel zone. Do not stay there. Older property, extreme mold smell, nothing going on, cab ride to do anything. Westin Lagunamar is directly across the street from the La Isla shopping mall. Every store you could want and also where the dolphin experience is located. If you want top shelf relaxation, try Secrets The Vine. Every restaurant in the place is 4 and 5 star. 2-3 snack/lunch restaurants. Snack buffet set up out by pool every day. Pricey but top shelf everything.
