Bart , Richard is coming in April I think. We can bring our own air conditioning guy. Lol we didn't use it much in Dec but April is a different story.
Who needs aircon, don't you know it's winter here? We switched ours off in October. Seriously though, aircon is a basic necessity year round in a vacation hotel for those who want it.
When we met are USA Transfers lady at the airport she had on a long underwear top under her shirt. It was 78 degrees, she said anything under 80 degrees she considers cold. We were in the same shorts and t-shirts that we left Illinois in when it was 20 degrees.
I hear you...did 66 C (150 F) in United Arab Emirates @85% humidity and damn near couldn't breathe (shoot me now hot n humid)... did same temps with 10% humidity in Afghanistan wasn't that bad...hot yes but your sweat evaporating actually did make it bearable. Would drop to 105 / 110 at night and you would be looking for a sweater after a 30-40 degree temp drop.
We are frozen most of the year too, but it's miserable to get dressed for a night out in a humid sweaty room.
We stayed at Temptation for the first time Jan 2-5th before moving onto Desire for 6 days. Our first room 5134 had no AC. Too hot to sleep at night. We asked to be moved, and were moved to 1216. The AC was better but not great. The resort advertises certain things for a certain price. Pool, beach, food, drinks, AC, entertainment etc. If they take one of those things away, then they should compensate accordingly. I understand things break down from time to time and need repairs. However, the AC outage was widespread and there does not appear to be any urgency to resolve the problem. For all the TTR lovers and addicts who defend the resort for not having AC or not needing AC, where do you draw the line? What if they decided to drain the pool? Is that OK too? How about if there was no more drinks? Are you going to justify it by saying it's ok, I'll buy booze across the street. We enjoyed our time at TTR, the staff and service for the most part was very good, the food and drinks were good, as was the overall resort. I just expect to get what I pay for.
We were at the resort from Jan4 till the 13th in room 5334. We had AC for the entire time. If there was not AC in the lobby I didn't notice it. Now if only they can get some air flow into Nice Shoes.
