Good points, though to be devils adovocate it sounds like they are making some changes to the ent. staff, so hopefully that's on an upswing. As for the facilities, I imagine that the AC system is pretty old and they are trying to fix it on the cheap, knowing that they plan to raze the property relatively soon. Hopefully in a few months when next I go everything is the well oiled machine I've come to expect! cwins:
So for all those that simply cant do without A/C for "health reasons" What do you do during the day... stay inside in a little climate controlled bubble ? never leaving the bubble because you may have a life threatening occurrence ? The people that get me are the ones who have to go home as the A/C is broke so its impossible to work and a health issue and they go home and sit out on the deck at home in the 90 degree heat . I guarantee if you were to look at what nasties are growing in the A/C units at most hotels resorts etc you would never care about A/C or run it ever again . Trust me I see it every day I fix this stuff for a living .
They better get that s*it fixed by Valentine's Day. I don't care how cold it is here (Chicago), Canada, wherever--TTR is in Cancun and therefore needs fn a/c year-round. The humidity there alone makes it hot, no matter the temp.
Kyle I agree with your points but why would you be surprised that people who love the resort would come to its defense? CCC is really just a fan site like any other, you have to expect the fans to back their love. I once posted a derogatory comment about an opposing hockey team on their fan site and it sure didn't surprise me the responses I got. Should we expect more from CCC? That being said, I do think that a respectful and constructive conversation about what the resort could do to improve should be able to be had. Mind you, I doubt the management is monitoring CCC in the hopes of catching some nugget of information as to how they can improve the place. Ali was pricing trips for Feb. (we're planning an April TTR trip too) as she's getting that itch and the price point of resorts we know are more luxurious is too high. I'd hate TTR to become a true 4 or 5 star and be out of our price range. I don't know what the answer is really.
As I've been reading all these different threads, all the negativity, I've been wondering what would it take for us repeaters to finally say.. we won't go back enough is enough. I'm not sure I could answer that question right now but I wonder.... We have this trip and are planning for April also, I guess we will see. But then again what is important to some people may not be as important to us time will tell
