Some people on here can only afford to go to TTR, to use the word ''dump'' is just disrespectful . It has had its ups and downs, but for the dollar value it is far from being a dump.

    To compare a 500$ @ night resort to a 200$@ night resort is il-logical.

Comparable to a 2 star... Breathing problems from the AC/ run down. liquids exiting gum because of humidity in room... Sitting without coffee several mornings with waiters walking past everyone=dump

We've been to RM many times, pearl twice and TTR once. For the price none are anywhere close to a 5 star. You pay for the atmosphere and the party. That's it. Don't expect great rooms anywhere unless you pay for a suite. TTR has a jacuzzi suite which beats any regular room at RM and Pearl. But the crowd at RM and Pearl is very different than TTR. It ain't Secrets by any stretch but it ain't boring!

Maybe we didn't have the right suite but twice we got jacuzzi suites at ttr facing the ocean on the end of the quiet pool and neither came close to our room or the rooms we saw at pearl. Like said above you don't go to ttr for the room, even if it is a suite in our opinion.

True, the rooms at Desire Riviera Maya are not 5 Star, but here is the room we had on our last trip in November and also had the same room last May.

Note: this is just a regular garden view room(just regular pricing), not a suite. Not too shabby eh !!

Don't wish to argue Coke, but our understanding is that room is now classified as Deluxe Garden Suite and is NOT the standard garden room price (we've had it before and tried to get it last 2 trips- but no dice. this is a standard room...

Your right, it's now classified as a Deluxe Garden room but is not classified or priced as a "suite"

Honestly for most of us that go to Desire on a regular basis we spend very little time in the room, other than to actually sleep ;)

Had a very similiar room....it ain't all that!
almost break an ankle everytime you get out of bed with that silly raised platform. Weird shower design. Freakishly get to watch yourself on the toilet.
And crazy steep stairs outside door.
Food ain't superb...buffet lunch only....No reservations for dinners...and no pool service.
Not much of a party...unless you want to get naked in an old spice commercial

    No comparison: price/quality/service/party/guests/location ratio

    TTR over DRM

It has been a while since you where last there - lol
    - rm #1901 is ground floor - no steps, just walk out
    - full bar pool service to your chairs/loungers
    - you can reserve for dinner in the specialty restaurants.. if you want to
    - lunch restaurant is buffet or order off of full menu for table dining
    - As of this Sept new rebuilt heated pool with in pool swim up bar

oh , and the A/C there works, no charge for missing towels, etc :icon_razz:

Actually it is 55 weeks since we were there.
room design is similiar I said.
And it was a tedious procedure for a reservation.
