Welcome to Mexico! If it's any indication with the plans to raise this resort for a "new and improved AI" within the next 18 months, looks like this could be one of the early end results.
theyre not touching the hotel at least until 2016...im sure the ac issues will be fixed...i agree about getting away from the cold but id fucking hate to not have ac to sleep
We know what you mean. We was there from Dec 29th -Jan 1st and it got a little warm. When we asked about the A/C, we got, it will be fixed by the end of the day. Not that it was so hot but A/C was needed. i just believe that if you are going to pay whatever to go to a resort, they should at least have A/C.
Renovations or no renos its a resort and if there is a problem it should be taken care of in a manner of your targeted audience, in this case a paying customer who is not familiar with resorts Mexican ways and payed big bucks and valuable time to appreciate and invest in a resort that do not care about their patriot well tht is too bad...but we have to live with it and party hard and maybe the only solution is to have few taquila shots ready before bed to just knock the socks out and forget all tht the resort do not have such as a chiller...
we have had an issue where the AC wasn't cooling to room. we were told to make sure the patio door was closed. we did that and it started cooling again. the units seem to get overwhelmed by the humidity. just my 2 cents
I hope that it is fixed before then, but not very confident about it. Or at least be honest if they are not planning to fix it. I agree with having a few drinks and ........... well you know, eventually passing out. The problem is waking up to the hot room. They were not being overwhelmed, and were simply not working. Having the door open was the best solution. Some rooms had both doors open. Some combination of hall and balcony show.
That may very well may be true but, this is our 7th year straight going at that exact time to mexico. We are use to the higher costs for that time of year, and a lot is the timing of when we booked 7 days before we booked the price was almost 800 dollars cheaper, then when we booked(for the same time period) we were notified of the price increase, and it was not the airfare. so we booked anyway:flash: no biggie it wont stop us from going to TTR, but much higher and we'll be shopping it. We are also guaranteed money back if the price fluctuation changes and comes back down, so we'll cross our fingers there. We would definitely consider different times of the year but when it finally gets warmer here, we are on the boat trying to reenact all the fun stuff we have recently picked up at TTR!! haha love this place but 4300 is the most we have ever paid, never tried hedo in Jamaica because it has always been about $1000 bucks higher, now its the same price, but hedo still doesn't have the fun theme nights and the entertainment, unless im mistaken, plus no Boobs Cruise, Steve, Chinos or Omar! So who am I kidding, we are still gonna go no matter what :daveandmo:. hopefully we go sometime and meet up with you guys.
Jamie's birthday is March 8th...and that's when she always planned her trips before we met. Between the great weather and cheap prices, we are now entrenched in May...we celebrate her bday here. We found that we can stay 12 days cheaper than 7 days in May. Jamie just laughs at me when I'm in the process of booking our trips. I have a notebook that I chart prices from different booking sites, 3 airports and a variety of dates. I don't book till I find a better deal than the prior year...but I work for it. We'll keep badgering you to look at May, and eventually maybe we'll convert you to Mayhem people. Sorry to hijack this thread!!
if A/C isn't fixed by the time we get there in June then not only will it be our first trip but also our last
