And for those that don't know those other resorts are typically $500+ a night. Now yes they are clothing optional but it truely is optional. And to say it is a lifestyle resort I don't think is fair. Are there more lifestyle? Yes. But my assessment is TTR is 1/3rd lifestyle, 1/3rd swayers, 1/3 there for the party only. Pearl was more like 50% lifestyle, 25% Swayers and 25% nudist/relaxation in luxury. Each week is different of course. Just based on our experience. To each their own but if we got switched for free then we would be doing the happy dance!

I would absolutely and totally take advantage of that upgrade if it's offered, y'all. What's average retail price for a standard garden view-ish room at TTR for the upgrade? South of $200/night, or so?

Well, average for garden view room at Desire RM is upwards of $400/nnight.

Food at TTR is good, Food at DRM is just damn fantastic.

Sure, people run around naked, and you might see someone fooling around, but it's like what is "teased" at TTR is just more open at DRM.

Totally would like to get that upgrade myself.

hmm, to change hotels when everything is planned for TTR and have a couples environment or to stay at TTR on the first trip and have a skewed percentage of non-couples.

We've never been at TTR when they've been overbooked...or at least we've never been offered the Desire option. Those friends of ours who have been at the resort when overbooked have all said that the bump was optional - no one was sent packing from TTR in favor of Desire or any other resort. What happened was a small sign was placed on the countertop at the front desk offering the option to transfer to Desire for a day or two due to overbooking at TTR. One couple said they didn't take the bump because friends were arriving the next day...the other couple talked it over for a while before deciding to agree to head to Desire for a couple days...and in the meantime, other couples beat them to it and the bump option was over. These are the circumstances I've personally heard about - the bump was optional...and one we might jump at for a day or two break if offered. We love the TTR party more than the clothing optional perk...we're lucky to have a clothing optional anything goes campground an hour from our house in Wisconsin.

That's always been a concern of mine; that they overbook and we could get bumped. I'm always a little jittery until we actually get the room key. Lol

    Kyle,
If there were an option given which one of the alternative resorts would you recommend for party atmosphere similar to TTR?

We were at Temptation last night and cant say I noticed lots of unruly single guys (not that I was particularly looking). There was a group of 3 I heard had been causing a few problems, these 3 were walk ups to the last Boobs Cruise but I turned them away.

I did notice a lot of older couples and not many 30's and 40's but I suppose they are busy with Christmas and kids etc.

I always find it strange that the hotel is full this time of year, yet there are very few cancuncare folks there. Happens every year, probably the age demographics.

We would definitely take advantage of that offer. We´ve been to both, TTR and Desire Riviera Maya, and love both for different reasons but Desire is definitely more upscale, food is way better, there´s a new pool bar, and the party and sexy mood at the disco is TTR standard x 2.

I´d say if your´re an open couple, even if your´re not into the Lifestyle, as long as you have no trouble looking at naked people all over the place (except restaurants and disco), do yourselves a favor and take advantage of that offer. The playroom itself is just worth it. And if possible go to Pearl, as it is even more upscale.
