Is there any reason to exchange money for the resort or is the US dollar preferred? How about outside the resort at restaurants or shops? And is there a currency exchange at TTR? Any advice for a newbie would be greatly appreciated
No need to exchange. We have been several times and have always used U.S.$. When shopping you will get pesos back in change. Then we just spend the pesos first. Just don't tip in U.S. coins. It is a hassle for them to get converted to pesos.
We always bring pesos for shopping and buying anything outside of tipping at the resort and excursions. If you not sure of the exchange rate you can get short changed with the exchange from US dollars to Pesos.
Can you tell us the theme's. Kristen and I want to be sure we have the right stuff with us. I told her how much fun dressing up with the right outfits for the evening fun can be. Dale & Kristen
