    My impressions.....

I have stayed at the resort [when it was Bluebay Getaway and now as Temptation] 6 times. 2 single solo, 2 single with traveling companions, and 2 with a SO. That variety has given me a different perspective. My thoughts.......people may not agree.....but that is OK.

    1. Singles can sometimes be treated poorly. Not everyone, and not all the time, but it does happen.
    2. The bigger issue than singles vs. couples is regular guests vs. occasional guests/newcomers. Some "regulars" seem to think that having visited many times entitles them to tell other people how to enjoy their trip, how things work, etc.
    3. Most people are friendly if you are friendly.
    4. It is generally easy to tell who is approachable and who is not.
    5. Some males are overly "testosteroning". As an example, I was at the pool bar getting a drink. Woman sits down next to me to order a drink, I say hello, we start to talk about varying resorts in Mexico. NOTHING going on. Next thing I know five guys come by to "warn" me that she is part of a couple and to leave her alone. I laughed it off since they were all kind of old and fat, but the lunacy of it was laughable.
    6. Many women looking for attention, but only attention. Much of the tension i noticed was from women trying to flirt with every guy in the pool and then the SO getting pissed as guys got the idea she was available.
    7. Couples competing with single guys for the single women. Funny, but true.
    8. Atmosphere can be adult........some people like to push the envelope.....but get pissed when others do also.
    9. Found most of the swingers to be discrete and respectful. Most.
    10. Very clear divisions by age and body size.......tensions when the age and size issues became chatter.

You can have fun as a single, but be smart and be sure to always be flexible as the situations morph.

    Cheers.

I'm in my mid-late 30's and headed there by myself in mid January. I'm signed up for one Boobs Cruise. I've been there before when I was in a relationship, and been to Desire a few times as part of a couple, so it's not a new environment for me. I think it's as simple as be friendly and respectful and don't badger anyone. If someone treats me poorly, I'll go talk to someone else. More than anything I'd just like to find someone to dance with and talk to. If I find more than that, great. Worst case scenario I'm sipping an umbrella drink by the pool studying for my exam.

Thanks folks. One item that would be great to have........a singles thread that was actually all singles posting. The Singles "Sticky" seems to be more couples than singles. If someone was trying to figure out a timeframe each year during which many singles are at the resort, it would be immensely difficult. Even connecting with other singles who are at the resort at the same time [post booking] would be difficult. Two female friends tried connecting to singles on this site but gave up quickly [they were flooded with solicitations from couples and were simply looking to relax for a week not be magical unicorns]. Fortunately, they traveled during MDW and met other people at the resort. The old fashioned "meet at the poolbar" method may be the best solution.
