Have found US Air the worst for this.
Refuse to ever book with them again, after being repeatedly burned.
it should illegal for airlines to do this.
it is a type of bait and switch and is a deliberate business model practice I believe

Marshe, I've had just the exact opposite luck with US Air. I usually try to book the first leg through Charlotte and I've never had a flight cancelled going that way. Now Delta is a much different story, but US has always been a safe bet for me.

we had a trip cancelled because of AA,, they changed a flight , that resulted in a 8 hour overnight layover.

thing is they give you a refund , but if you booked your hotel separately you could be in for cancellation fees.

I think they have a new rule now that anything more then 2 hours they have to offer a full refund on the flight.

bunch of new recent rules to protect passengers

I booked my trip back in August. United has changed flight times twice. Lucky it was only changed around half hour later.

it happened again frontier called travel agent on monday the 9th and said our flights have been changed this time we had a disconnect no flight to cancun the day of our trip 3 weeks before we go. but they said we will give there money back or go another date this should be illegal now we are flying united but it costed an extra 700 dollars be wary when you book early keep an eye on your flights.

The airlines need a lot more consequences on this than a refund. The only approaches are to complain consistently to the airline. Also complain to your government representatives. for better compensation.

I can expect changes happening months in advance, or due to weather. Not less than 2 months in advance. Two way contract should apply.
