We live in the US + we have AT&T as our wireless company.

I just called yesterday to find out about roaming plans. They said they have something called "ATT Passport" For a flat $30 (per line) you get unlimited text messages (send/receive), 120 MB of data and calls would be $1/minute (as opposed to $2.29/minute without a plan)

I don't know if other plans are better but I thought this was a decent deal. It's a flat $30 for a one-month period; there is no pro-rating for a shorter duration. 120 MB isn't a whole lot, but it'll help keep us in touch with the kids back home.

    Just an FYi

Another reason to choose Verizon. They have the Canada & Mexico plan where for $15 you get 1000 minutes of calls out of the U.S. We just have them block texts on our lines while we are in Mexico and use WiFi for data. works great and it's cheap.

Uh, isn't the idea to be able to call INTO the US and not out or did I read that wrong?

Just wanted to say that 120MB goes super fast. I maxed out into second day here :( So I had to turn my cellular data off.
