There are two types of packages build your own package where you book the hotel in the flight on the same site at the same time and there's that total package the one that are pre packaged by tour companies that will also include your transfers I have found in the past that building your own package I can get 10 nights for the same price as 7 nights a lot depends on your departure city also
We did the lazy way like we do every year and go through a travel agent, we really screwed up this year on when we booked. We always go 1st week in march because of my birthday and our anniversary. That being said, right before thanksgiving we priced and it was the same as last year, so we thought ,no rush. When we got back (from thanksgiving trip), we sent the travel agent an email and called for booking, the price had gone up over 700 dollars in one week, same exact flight booking etc. and she said the airfare was the same but it was Temptation that went up ( she was shocked and very surprised)? What ever its worth it must be the timing, so we booked anyway, what are you gonna do!
That's how I feel. Once I decide we are going to go, a change in price isn't going to change my mind. I would rather have fun living on credit now, than have money later in life, and have regret. I'm sure my kids will understand when they don't get an inheritance, and I'll be in a much better mood.
Last year from 4/25-5/4 it was 3100 for two air and hotel. This year we are looking at 4/3-4/12 and its about 3800 for two air and hotel. Even changing the days some the price only goes down to about 3500 for the same 10 days for two air and hotel.
Thats crazy high. We booked this year (room wise), for the same price as last year. Airfare right now is a killer. We have friends in SoCal, and here in Texas that have been paying in the above 3k range for 8-10 days, until I told them where to look and shop around on the net. They couldnt believe the price difference. Our friends here will save about a grand over what they paid last year through a travel agent. I have NO idea why people still use travel agents. Flying on Sunday is much cheaper than Fri or Sat. For instance, if you change your dates to 04/05-04/12 the price on Cheaptickets is $1187 pp nonstop from LAX. Hope yall can make it. We will all be there 04/5-04/12
Your date change this year is what caused the price jump...not the resort. The beginning of April is high season where prices are expensive. Every year, somewhere around the second or third week of April, prices drop drastically...that's one reason we now go the end of April into May...we can get 12 or 13 days for $2400 total from Minneapolis. We'd pay more than that for 7 days in February through mid April.
that was total dollars per couple for 7 nights and direct flights out of Denver - a really good deal.

Best price that we have found are, September for sure and the sooner you book the better! Always booking airfare together is cheapest. Orbitz beats Expedia every time!
