    Hey guys and girls,

We're making our 3rd trip to TTR in October 2015. Our previous 2 trips have been in June. Now, we've managed to bag TTR for £1030 FOR 12 Nights, which makes the nightly rate around £85, which isnt bad considering we've paid average of £97 per night previously...However...the flight prices are SO expensive. Virgin was cheapest last year, direct from London Gatwick for £540...this year we're looking at £675 pp (through Virgin again!) and they are the cheapest. Just wondering if any fellow brits make a trip around this time of year who've paid less for flights and if so, who have you booked with and when??

    Thanks in advance!

    Sophie & Morgan :eek:rangehat:

we have always gone with Thomas Cook from manchester but now going to start using Virgin from Gatwick. just got flights for £1069 for the two of us. Problem using Thomas cook is that you have to pay the departure tax at the airport and we have been told its included with virgin

We're going with Thomas cook in Feb 2015 and have paid in total £980 for 14 night accommodation and flight from Manchester, yes we have to pay departure tax but like it has been said if u go with virgin they just put it in flight price anyway.
We flew with Virgin last year from gat wick and they are loads better to travel with but price sometimes depicts who u fligh with xx

If you can sit tight a few weeks British airways normally have a sale around Christmas/ early new year and Virgin quite often follow suit. We have been using the two big sales they have each year for the last 2 years and have had some really good savings. We will be booking our flights for next August when they appear :)

Thanks for all the responses ladies and gents. Cheapest i can find Virgin is £666. We flew with Thomas Cook last year... absolutly awful experiance. Flight was 26 hours delayed, plane interior was poor quality with most of the seatback entertainment systems (that only had 4 movies) were falling out of the seats, drinks were overly priced, food was rubbish and had to pay departure tax! We paid £590 each for those filghts with TC last year, this yea with Virgin, we paid £540 each, an amazing plane, a 'welcome cocktail', luggage included, free food, drinks and snacks and amazing staff, basically everything TC wasnt! Virgin are amazing, hence i wouldnt wanna fly with TC again. I'll wait until January, see if they go cheaper over Chhristmas or New Year. Just wanna get the flights booked and paid for! So excited for our 3rd Trip! :)

we have flown with thomas cook and thomsons never had any problems with either, but we dont get much choice as we fly from manchester and dont fancy a trip to london when we only live 20 min from the airport . we have gone premium this year they have new planes and we are getting free drinks, meals, extra baggage allowance, seats together, express check in and fast track through security.
last year we ended up paying for extra baggage fast track through security and the seats together so it wasnt that much difference

TC have just cancelled our premier upgrade on the way out but can still have Prem on way back due to them using a different plane on way out, we were also told that u don't get any drinks with premier seats or earphone (which u have to purchase a £3 each) were fuming as paid a extra £480 in total for 2 of us x
