We stayed at the Royal in Playa on our honeymoon in 2009 (private album available to our friends). My wife asked if topless was okay on the beach, and was told no. She did it anyway - and no one cared. We went dancing every night. Best place was Coco Bongo simply because it was so crowded that there was a lot of bumping going on. You'll find "fun", trust me.

There are day passes but they are more expensive than a room for a day. Sam was just suggesting paying the AI fee and letting her stay in our room. ;-)
AI fee it's the All Inclusive fee (food, drinks, amenities) to add an extra person to your room. It's basically the difference in cost of a triple occupancy versus a double occupancy. No, you cannot just pay an AI fee. That would be a day pass and the price of that is to discourage day passes.
Besides letting wild1 take your wife Your best bet would just be to wait closer to the end of the month for the Boobs Cruise dates to be posted. Then book the night before the cruise at Temptation. Arrive around 1 for check-in, party all day, dinner, see a show, Paty O’s foir dancing, then resist the urge to party all night, bang, sleep, get up and go on the Boobs Cruise, party all day! Then put your head down in sadness and head back to Playa after the cruise is over. This would get you the full experience in a day and a half, and doesn't look like you’re ditching the work crew all that much(people will probably do their own thing during the day anyway, might not even notice when you come and go). You might be able to get a room for like $150 for the night. Then you can both be there and have a crazy adventure for like 250-350 bucks. Chump change for an awesome time, especially when your main trip is free. Just tell the work crew you are going on a cruise early the one day, and want to check out another resort for a future vacation in Cancun the night before. This way you can evaluate and not have to get up super early to travel.
Steve is right. Leave the Royal early in the morning. Bus from PDC station to Cancun station, taxi to TTR. Stay the night. Hang at the pool. You and the wife have a great time. If you reserve now, I'm sure you could get a room in Feb for a night or two. Transportation is extremely easy and cheap. Hey, if the trip is free, you guys can sneak away for a night. It is very easy to do. Like I always say plus others on here "what happens in Mexico, stays in Mexico":flash:
Thanks for all the help and ideas. I will keep watching to see when the Boobs Cruise is going to take place and may get a room for the night even if it only means we are there during the day. Otherwise we will just hit the clubs, get drunk, and see what happens.
