Yes. We did Playa back in 2008 with Ann Marie's company (which is kind of what made us discovery TTR in 2010). Anyway, fly into Cancun, than about an hour south. Playa's nice with a cool little town that is safe to roam (at least it was in 2008). Still, it ain't TTR.

Happy Saturday after Thanksgiving to my American friends and happy Thanksgiving + 47 days to my Canadian friends. Your Thanksgiving kind of gets overlooked on the board. Of course, maybe that's because your government just made it up out of the blue back in the '50s rather than creating a cool Pilgrim story like we did. Also, if you're gonna do a "national" holiday, make it nation-wide. Don't let those Newfoundlanders and Nova Scotians off the hook by making it optional. Though I'm sure Nikki and Ira celebrated even though they didn't have to. Just my two cents.

However, I must say that interacting with you Canucks has broadened my horizons, which is one of the many things I'm thankful for. Along with all of you fun, sexy people.

While I'm spraying Canuck love everywhere, big day tomorrow -- the 102nd Grey Cup. I'll have some thoughts on that later, so if you're the betting type, you'll want to check back.

Haha we LOVE the Canuck love :) We celebrated with some cross border shopping if that counts...my little way to help boost the US economy haha I will go anywhere for a good sale :) We don't have Kohl's or JC Penny here and I always find gifts from Santa there!

Alright, alright, alright. We're a little over an hour away from the greatest football game in the world played outside the United States. Hey, nothin' wrong with bein' #2. After all, you're Canada. :)

So, interestingly this is the 102nd Grey Cup, but the CFL has only been a league since 1958. Is that that crazy metric system the world has been trying to teach us Americans? Sorry. We're America. The world conforms to us, not the other way around.

So for the betters out there, here's my in-depth analysis of today's Grey Cup pitting the Hamilton Ti-Cats (short for Tiger Cats) vs. the Calgary Stampeders. I like Hamilton because that's the team I remember always watching back in the mid-70s when I was desperate for any kind of football in July. However, that's all they've got going for them.

Calgary is playing at home, it's the home of Averagegirl, it's the gateway to Banff, it's part of the Canadian frontier (although, honestly, isn't all of Canada "frontier"?), I think we have more Octoberbreasters from Calgary and/or the province of Alberta, they've got the best record in the CFL, and they beat Hamilton twice in the regular season. While it's hard to beat any team three times, I say take Calgary straight-up AND against the spread.

First off.....some of your info is correct.....BUT!!!

I was born in Hamilton and if you know anything you know we are steel-town tough.
    The Ticats defence epitomizes that.
Hamilton has beaten Calgary in the Grey Cup before, as recently as 1999 in Vancouver.

Which brings me to todays game. It is in the same stadium as 1999. IN VANCOUVER
Not sure how you figure Calgary is at home.

Hamilton's special teams and defence leads the Ticats to Lord Greys' mug.
RESPECT THE POWER OF THE PUSSY!

Nope, but in the last few years, Canadian companies grew tired of losing lots of money to the US Black Friday cross boarder shoppers. We now have our own black friday deals on the same day as you guys. We stand in line in the wee hours of the morning for cheap tv's etc

However, one noticeable difference is at target here they had a really cheap 40" TV on sale and only 100 of them in the store. They gave out numbered cards to people in the lineup in the order they were so the 'right' people got the tv's....so friggin' canadian lolol!!!!

Let me start by saying, I'm watching this game on my deck -- barefoot, shorts and t-shirt, so I've already won.

    Second, 1999? That's a decade a half ago. I was just a baby then and now I'm almost 50.

And now it 's time stereotypically trash talk: Oh no you di'nt! It is so on, like the mower of lawn, like the deer that's a fawn, like Mongo who's a pawn ("Blazing Saddles" reference). like I'm tired and I yawn.

Okay, so I said Calgary was home 'cuz your own CFL site listed them as "Home", but let's be honest, Vancouver is closer to home for Calgary than Hamilton. Oh, and 14-0, early in the 2nd. :)

And America has the real steel town: Pittsburgh.

Oh, and in America we spell defense with an "s". Conform.

    :)

I should also add that Vancouver, B.C. is one of the most beautiful cities in the world (if not the most beautiful city). Love me some Vancouver.
