Correct - We all knew this year it was a massive price mistake - they were selling rooms in PEAK season for $35/night - price mistakes happen all the time with businesses and we don't expect them to be honored, now do we? Chalk this up to good try and focus you energy on something positive!
My guess is either there was a very limited number of rooms available at that price and 50 bookings in an hour swamped them (in the middle of the night UK time) before they had time to adjust the system, or the hotel has got involved and told them they have to charge a more usual rate.
Well, ok I guess..... Since you say so. Actually, I'm focusing on getting the reservations straightened out, is that positive enough? Since I got confirmed, re-confirmed and a travel voucher, I went ahead & cancelled my other reservations, and now the prices are quite a bit higher everywhere, so regardless of all my positive energy I get to pay a little more because of their "mistake" and am currently waiting for yet another confirmation from Alpharooms that they will actually honor the higher price deal they offered. Unfortunately all communications take a full day to get a response. Fun Fun! :headbanger:
That totally blows. I wouldn't be happy if I was you. $545.85 isn't a good deal from them still? Obviously I have no idea how long you are going for, but that would be awesome for two people for me. Good luck, maybe they will try to work something out if you explain yourself enough(which I am sure you are doing)
I'm waiting for them to "action" the reservation at the "new" rate, I have to have an invoice to actually pay, right?
That is just poor business practice. If a vendor mis-posts an advertised price said vendor is liable to honor that price for all who saw and purchased at that price. It is incumbent upon the vendor to double check and correct any errors. I once purchased a $250 jacket at Kohl's for $50 because they mis-marked the rack. They honored it without question but immediately corrected the error.
