To be honest, in my opionion, there are often alot of empty tables as people get up in the moening with good intentions of going for a nice meal in one of the restaurants that require a reservation, then end up getting so wasted in the sexy pool they never make it!! I'm sure if you want to dine at 5.30pm, you wouldnt have any problems as earliest and latest are the least popular for diners.
It's been over 4 years since we've been to Temptation and I understand that you now call to make reservations at the specialty restaurants. My question is, who do you call? The front desk or will they tell us this info when we arrive?
We were just there last week. The number to call is next to your phone - 1680 if I remember. We never planned in advance when we were going. On the Monday called around noon for reservation for Asian restaurant for same night. We got option of 5/5:30 or 9pm and took 9pm. Meal was about an hour and a bit and things are hopping at Paty'Os by 10/10:30. You don't need reservations for seafood/steak restaurant. You show up put in your name then either go back to your room or have drinks at the quiet pool bar right next to the restaurant. Our room was literally right next to it so I went at 7:30 and left my name and they said come back at 8:15. For the Italian I called on Thursday afternoon for a Friday reservation. They had early 5-6pm or 8:30pm. Took the 8:30pm but showed up just after 8. They said just a few minutes so we grabbed a drink and waited. In all cases we tipped the maitre'ds and our servers were all excellent. Food was very good in all 3. Overall great experience at each. Liked being able to pay extra for good wine.
Sounds like this is all a hassle and being on vacation I'll opt for the buffet! Is the buffet food good?
The buffet food is fine but the restaurants are very good. Picking up the phone and taking 1 minute to get your reservation is really not a hassle. Nothing is a hassle at Temptations.
I think it is best to try to make it to every place you can. You paid for it, might as well try to get the most out of it. I wouldn't say that any part of it is a hassle. Since the meals take longer then eating at the buffet, it gives you a couple of hours to come to your senses before starting all over again at night. Though, a pep talk sometimes can be required to make it to dinner in general. "Come on Steve, bathing suit off, I will help you get dressed nice so we can eat and you can pretend you have some class and know how to use silverware". "Awww, Elyse do I have to". "You don't have to do anything, I don’t care. I am just going out with the girls and I will see your stupid ass whenever. (Steve wakes up the next morning feeling extra sad and extra stupid)
We think the buffet is ok at best. It works when you are in a hurry and just want a bite to eat. The restaurants are the way to go. Our only complaint, there was always a group of us from CCC for dinner and no matter how early we called and how many of us were members with preferred seating they always had problems accommodating our group of 8-10. The restaurants are set up to be quite couples meals. We were always the loud table (not rude) that everyone looks at secretly hoping to have as much fun as we were.
