Curious how many people were lucky enough to get their reservations confirmed at the discounted rates? It would have been great to get a second trip in for that price but good for all who got lucky!! I tried Jan. 16 to 23rd but recieved the email to notify me my reservation was cancelled, another member and friend recieved the same email for a reservation the week prior.
We got confirmation from Alpharooms that our reservation is good for Jan. 6-12, I just have to pay the $219 balance (after the $10 deposit I paid when booking) to get the vouchers/documents from them. I got a little sidetracked on Thursday evening when my car was broken into while I was in yoga class and some motherfucking asshole stole my purse, iPad and laptop after shattering my passenger side car window. All my jewelry was in my purse, including my wedding rings … so I have been dealing with that nightmare the last two days with the police/insurance/car repair. Knowing we got the great Cancun deal when so many others had their reservations canceled has offset the heartbreaking last few days a bit! I am so grateful I didn't have to read a cancelation email in the middle of cursing about everything that was stolen from me …
And so it goes, today I get the following after getting my confirmation, re-confirmation and voucher a week or so ago and cancelling my previous reservations because I felt it was all done: Good Morning, In reference to your reservation at the Temptation Resort and Spa in Cancun, I would like to bring the following information to your attention. We regret to inform you that there has been a pricing error on your reservation, where the board type/room type selected was been wrongly advertised for $114.98 The correct price for this reservation is $545.85 We therefore can no longer fulfil the reservation as originally booked and confirmed to you. What are your options? • You can continue with your booking at the correct price and pay the additional amount of $430.87 • We can offer you a full refund of your accommodation should you choose not to proceed with this change. If resort transfers have been booked through Alpharooms to coincide with this booking, the necessary amendment will be actioned on your behalf and a new transfer voucher will be issued. I would be grateful if you could confirm how you wish to proceed by way of return email, at which stage this will be actioned and updated paperwork will be forwarded to you. My response to Alpharooms: Is this a hoax? Are you telling me that the confirmations and vouchers from your company are meaningless, that you simply run a classic bait & switch scam? I suggest that you reconsider this issue while I prepare an information letter to be posted on every travel blog that I'm able to post on in order to let as many people as possible know how you do business. Please let me know how you wish to proceed.
we also got in on that crazy sept. deal.but were never asked to sign any paper? oh well it was a great time! hope to see another killer deal in our time frame.
