me and my husband might go somewhere for vacation this winter. he really wants to go to Jamaica. I've been there a few times only on a cruise, never to a hotel. Anyone got good suggestions on a good resort there?
Been to Rio or Riu Negril , was very nice and affordable at the time snorkeling right of the beach not an Adult only resort, but few kids because their sister resort next door caters to the kids. be prepared to be pestered by drug dealers and gigolo,s as soon as you step off the property. venders are very pushy and sell stuff you can find at walmart for 3 x the price ( worse then Mexico) Beach is the best around, and countryside is nice.
Jewel Dunns River in Ocho Rios is a smaller, adult only resort. Great drinks, good food, and a decent entertainment staff.
been to Jamaica several times, in Negril and Ocho Rios, Couple's Tower Isle in Ocho Rios is one of the Best Resort's we have ever been too, and we Travel frequently, Adult only by the way.feel free to P M if you want detail's.
after checking the above resort prices ( 500 to 750 @ night ) , I don't think I will complain about TTR prices for a while
We're not too worried about the money, just a new experience! btw: TTR cost us $2500 for 3 nights 4 days. yes I could have gotten a better deal had we had time to plan. we booked a week in advance, also that was the only week we could go. So we had to pay what we paid; im not complaining but just stating that money isn't a big issue with us when planning vacation
Jewel dunno river if ya want to have a good time....been there twice...very good food cold drinks and the staff is amazing..make sure to go see floyd Linton across the street from the jewel at scaly wags for a tattoo!!! Tell him shannon sent ya..
Only been to Jamaica once. We went to the Breezws grand Negril. It really wasn't worth the money (and we got a great deal). It really kind of jaded me agaisnt Jamaica. Staff was miserable resort was in desperate need of repair food was decent but nothing spectacular. All and all I think we will stick to TTR. Way better staff and people.
