We are looking for suggestions on where to spend a couple of nights in Punta Cana after finishing up a meeting at the Hard Rock. We are looking for something adults only, and preferably not huge.
We had a good time at the Princess resort there (I think this was the name). It's adults only and probably close to the same size as TTR. Of coarse the atmosphere is nothing like TTR, but there is fun if you go you looking for it. It's also been 5+ years since we went there, but we could recommend it and it was on the cheaper side of adults only places in the area.
I have been told by many for years now that the Princess is good. Back years ago it was just called the Bavaro I believe. I also have heard that the Catolonia (sp?) Is nice. We stayed at a Catolonia property in Tulum that was exquisite, but nothing like TTR. A meeting at The Hard Rock? Man you 2 live well. we are doing something wrong.
I stayed at the Hard Rock last April. Nice rooms, decent rooms and nice Casino. Not adults only but they have an adults only pool that allows topless. Relatively private with a good bar.

I second Excellence Punta Cana. It's the only resort there I have been to but it was fabulous all around, food, service, rooms, you name it. Not a party resort but there is still plenty of day drinking and fun to be had if you know where to find it.
Lots of it depends on the people at the resort when you are. We've seen amazing parties at Excellence.........and the beach is amazing.....even at night!
The Hard Rock is way too large for our taste, but what was needed for the 2200 person group we were in. The Eden pool had signs all over prohibiting any booby sightings. We ended our trip with a couple of nights at Breathless, and it was very nice. I would recommend Breathless to anyone heading to Punta Cana. We compare service on any vaca/trip to what we receive in Mexico, and Mexico continues to win that comparison. We were somewhat disappointed with the food at both of the Punta Cana resorts, but think it was mostly ordering the wrong choices off the menu. We now have a much better appreciation for the TTR breakfast quality and service.
