Hi guys - 10 days til we get to our much anticipated second trip. Just had a couple questions that you experienced veteran's might have answers to... 1. Last time we had room 1111. Loved the location and being on the ground floor. Does pre-check in help with trying to get near where you want to be? If so how do you pre-check in? 2. Day trips - anyone gone on a tequila factory tour? Or day trip to Isla Mujeures? We like to take a break mid week and looking for some idea. Thanks D
pre check in does not help with that. rooms are assigned as they become empty on the day you arrive. they do try to accommodate you , if not on the first day......
I don't think the pre check in does much. We usually request a paty-o ground floor room and we usually get it. You can always do the world famous Boobs Cruise. The pool will be boring those days. Also you can take a ferry to isla and rent a good cart. Friends have done it and enjoyed it. We may do it this trip. see you there!
Pre Check-in doesn’t do anything, I don’t even know why they have it. (You do it on the main Temptation resort website). However, when we were there last they tried to give a room nowhere near where we wanted. We put our preference on the pre check-in, and also when we originally booked with the agent. When they tried to give us a crap room, we just nicely said that we put on our requests where we wanted. They worked with us for a while, and though we had to wait a couple of hours (waiting while eating and doing tequila shots was such an inconvenience), we ended up with a primo room. My suggestion is to do the pre check-in, ask to see the room the give you before they cart your bags there, and if it isn't what you are looking for, just be nice and ask it they can do better. Especially because you are now a repeater.
Isla Mujeres is a lot of fun but I strongly recommend taking Pesos. They will kill you with a crappy exchange rate if try to use dollars. And don't plan on buying souvenirs there. Prices are way high and they get pissed if you play hard ball with the negotiations.
I agree. We have had difficulties with the money deal. One time, they would only take cash when were told credit only, one time they could only take credit cards, Jeeze o peats !
Email and follow-up with the front desk helps, but does not guarantee. Try to get the name of the person at the front desk helping, and try to coordinate your way to someone who will be on-duty when you believe you will actually be arriving, so they are familiar with you and your request. Good luck on that! We've thought about going over to Isla Mujeres during the day before ourselves, but haven't done it, except on Steve's Boobs Cruise, that is.... Supposed to be neat to rent a golf cart and putt around...
