Thank you for the heads ups! My hubby and I flew into ATL and he gets stopped everytime because someone with the same exact name is on the terrorist watch list in our area. Customs recommended that we do this so we don't have to hassle with the crap anymore since we have been flying down to cancun twice a year lol
Those are different then global entry. You get a printed ticket with an X or no X. With global entry you don't have to worry about the stupid ticket thing. Those machines are a breeze if you don't get an X but my husband keeps getting one. We got stuck in Customs for almost 2 hours in may so he could go to a booth to talk to an agent. It freaking blows lol We are sending in our information for global entry this coming month after reading about the ease of it!
Joe, We flew SW too. Leaving out of Cancun was a nightmare because it seems so unorganized. But, we had really good flight attendants that made sure people didn't save seats like that. They even made announcements stating that people needed to take there stuff off of seats because is was a full flight.
I came home from work to an email from SW with a direct phone number to speak with a rep. She was very polite and was appalled that someone would do that. Up until now they have relied on the honor system, but since they now fly International they may have to consider policies since position in the immigration line is critical to most. She said that only a ticket holding passenger can hold a seat. One ticket, one seat. She is having my issue forwarded to a writer to draw up a statement that I can post here on CCC so that anyone can read it or even print it and carry it with them when they fly. She said that we will be fully supported if we respectfully remove items that are being used to reserve seats improperly and that once you are on the aircraft you are in SWA hands and not Mexico's. I should have the statement no later than the beginning of next week and will post it as soon as it arrives. I am very satisfied with my conversation with SWA.
That's all it would have taken is a comment from an attendant like that and all would have been well! Glad ya'll had a pleasant flight! It was a pleasure meeting you both! What a fun week,eh?!!
We just got GOES, although when landing in Denver this trip. there was not a line and it didn't help us much,, but there was a big British Airways jet that was going to deplane... so a few minutes later we would have been behind 300 people, we figure sometime in the future it will be worth it,,, plus you get a KNOWN traveler number that gets you into TSA precheck line most times...not always
