That storm pushed our trip back because the airline wouldn't fly. We still made it time for Halloween!! Come rain or shine, we will all still have a blast!
We flew American Airlines that time (hate em) and they were the only airline to cancel flights...Had to pay the TTR hurricane rate of $100 a night ( $50 per) to stay but good ole travel insurance reimbursed me in about a week for those 2 nights and I even kept the receipts for snacks and smokes and they paid for that to which was nice.. Hopefully it doesnt rain to much on our TTR brothers and sisters who are arriving this week!!!
As most Halloween Vets know, the weather can be shit! Which is why it is low season on room rates. Where else can you have that much fun for a week for under a Grand? The "fun quotient" per dollar spent is a jackpot bargain. But for us Halloween is not about the weather so much. It is about the incredible crowd, party and vibe. It is about cutting loose with our favourite TTR brethren. It is about seeing some very special ppl again, as a sorta annual right of passage. It is also about slippin away for a week to our 'Happy Place' before the dreaded silliness of Xmas season and winter starts. Halloween @TTR, consistently has the coolest ppl and best ambience every year. it is only place on the planet we want to be on Oct 31. There are other Halloween parties (perhaps with better weather) but there is only one TTR party. The weather is secondary to the scene. We feel if we get nice weather, it is just icing on the greatest cake you can eat.
Well, we can't bring AIWC from California so hopefully we can bring the icing for the cake in the form of some beautiful NorCal weather. With 2 Boobs cruises booked we are really hoping for sunny skies. The weather messed with us pretty good in May, even causing our Boobs Cruise to be delayed a day, so mother nature owes us one.
We will get some nice days, we always do. And we will raise the intensity of the party on those days, to give a stern, bold 'F U' to hurricane season. We always do.
And maybe, if I am drunk enuff, I will get up with the band, and serenade mother nature with my spoof of Lou Bega's Mambo #5(*), inserting some HnH vets names. (*)this is our TTR Halloween #5 trip
