We had to delay by 1 day. American cancelled all flights the day we were supposed to depart. It was worth the wait! That was a great Halloween!!
We were there for that tropical storm in 2011 in late Oct. It was a hurricane headed toward Cancun, it was a category 3, they boarded up the place and gave us evacuation plans, the day before we were to be evacuated the hurricane fizzled out into a tropical storm and we got to stay at resort. Was heavy rain and wind for 2 days, the party went on, the staff made the best of it having games in the alternative bar. They did bring the folks from Desire over, made for interesting time, not many of them had swim suits, or if they did it was micro bottoms. The body shots did become more risqué. Looking like we might arrive Thursday into the tail end of 93-L. Just saying lots of rain for now, not much wind, so hopefully no flight delays or dangers, might make for a bumpy descent into Cancun.
OH YEAH! 2 more days, rain or whatever , don't care, don't give a shit! Still TTR and still will party!
I just hope, for everyone's sake (ajay in particular), that this doesn't develop into anything. No bad things, only good things!
So far it's looking good for us! The storm should hit Thursday or Friday and it should die down as it crosses the state.
That's good news for us too. We have a daughter that lives up in Melrose in a place that seems about as solid as a house of cards. We cringe every time a storm heads for Florida.
We were their for that tropical storm also...seemed like everybody was in the lobby staring at the radar that had on the t.v they set up in there..flight got cancelled and had 2 extra days at TTR with great weather..no complaints here..just looked at the radar for the Yucatan and it looks like lots of rain til this Friday..
