We have been to TTR many times and have a friend who would like to come too.. The kicker is he is in a wheelchair.. Does anyone know if TTR has any rooms that are handicap accessible ( wider door, big shower, etc..?

They should accommodate you! The common hallways have steps and ramps. I have asked for rooms with no stairs because I have a back injury ( fracture and 3 herniated discs). I hope all works out for your friend!!!

Thanks- I know the hallways and areas are wide enough as the wife broke her ankle when we were there in January and she got to ride around in a chair all week.
Difference is she had one good leg.. he doesn't have any use of his legs so he needs to be able to get into the bathroom with his chair... Not sure if they have any rooms with wider doors on the bathrooms or not,,,,

the best way is to contact the resort directly. I believe they have rooms that are open concept bathrooms no doors.

we were there in Aug with a friend who uses a motorized scooter to get around and her room on the main floor over by the sexy pool had lots of room to negotiate the scooter as well as a handicapped bathroom for her to use. Just have them ask for it when they reserve their room and enjoy the party

When we were at TTR this past September there was a gentleman who was paralyzed from the waist down. He and his girlfriend / wife had a blast and appeared to have no difficulties getting around the resort...including getting in and out of the sexy pool (he did require a little assistance getting out though). I can't speak for rooms that can accommodate persons with disabilities but overall the resort is accessible.

It was truly amazing to watch them and how they didn't let a disability interfere with their fun and meeting people etc :) As usual TTR folk were as accepting and friendly as ever :)

Following an accident on my dirt bike I had to rent a knee scooter for our trip last January. The only place I couldn't wheel into was the sports bar. Everywhere else is accessible.

I've thought about wheelchair access at TTR in the past..... The only room that really might work are the Jacuzzi Suite rooms in the 1000 block, I think, but it's really hit and miss on construction since they don't have "building code" as we in the US understand that concept. Each room is actually and literally a bit different from the next, from a construction standpoint, when you get down to measuring things.

I'd be worried about doing it, unless you've actually been down with an eye to measuring and confirming things...
