This will be our first time in Cancun. I'm surprising my wife with the trip. She has no idea where we are going. I'm a little nervous about to expect after reading some of the reviews. We'll be arriving on Dec 10-13.

I wouldn't recommend not telling your wife where you're going, it's good to prepare mentally for TTR. First trip, I generally organised things but I told the husband what I knew before we got there and I think he appreciated the heads up! If you want her to enjoy it without panic setting in or anger/confusion why it had to be kept secret then I would definitely tell her. Save the surprise trip for your second visit.
