Or, you can book through Alpharooms and just put your $10 deposit down. If you cancel more than 30 days prior to your trip that is all you have to eat.
$10 deposit is all that's needed for air as well? Another option is many frequent flier programs do not charge you a penalty to reschedule dates, as long as departure and arrival cities remain the same. I plan to go this time on Frontier miles. Problem is Frontier doesn't book until 5 months our or something (I'm going in May...)
I know I've seen several people say this, but this isn't the cancellation policy they have on their website. Just wondering if anyone knows if the cancellation policy has changed from the past or if they just don't enforce their cancellation policy. Would really appreciate if anyone is able to clarify this. I booked at a a $165/night rate, but the price has dropped since then. I considered canceling and rebooking at the lower rate if I only lose $10, but not sure it makes sense if the cancellation fee is $65. This is the policy listed on Alpharooms site: Accommodation cancellation charges Booking cancelled more than 7 days before departure - £40 cancellation charge (or the value of the booking if lower). Booking cancelled 7 days or less before departure - 100% of the booking value. Non refundable rooms cancelled will incur a 100% charge. For the avoidance of doubt, any cancellation charges levied are wholly independent from the deposit arrangements on any given booking and in the event that you cancel your booking you must immediately pay any shortfall between payments made by you against that booking and the cancellation charge applied and in accepting these General Terms you give your authority for us to automatically charge the payment card used by you when securing the booking (or any other card used by you in connection with other bookings placed through Alpharooms) at that time. All cancellations requests must be made directly to Alpharooms in writing or by using 'My Account' online. Cancellations notified directly to Travel Providers will not be effective.
We were involved with the shut down of Cabo. We had booked Halloween week and they shut it down Jun 13. The honored the reservation price and moved us to Desire Rm or Pearl, (we chose RM) but the dates were already booked so we had to move it back a week. Lost 7 of the 12 couples due to inability to change vacation dates. They WILL book until the official notice is made. I would bet that they will move you to RM or Pearl (if they do not get another hotel leased) but I would watch the dates. IF you go during a busy time, they might not be able to accommodate you. If you have flexibility in vacations, it will be a win win as they should honor your price. Just my $.02 worth. We have already booked for the end of Feb 2015. Watching and waiting!! artyhorn:
I was wondering about that policy too. We have our non-refundable flights for June booked already. And we have 6 nights at TTR booked through alpha rooms at ~ $150/ night. But we only have the $10 deposit on that. So I'm thinking about double booking those 6 nights at Golden Parnassus (similarly priced $150/ night and topless also I believe) via alpha rooms also as a back up plan. Not afraid of losing the $10 deposit and hopefully there will be more information 30 days out when the balance is due.
looks like giving them some grief when we get over in 12 days. Bought time share because of how it was not how its going to be.
