If this happens, can you imagine the back up of sold out months after it reopens? All of us addicts in withdrawal from our boobie fest and the excitement to see the "new" resort would make it like a lottery to try to get a reservation. And I fear what they might do with the rates too. It's a mix of good and bad.
They were redoing the jacuzzi rooms last week on the side of the sexy pool. Looked like a lot more than just painting. It is anyones guess as to when this would all start. Sounds like sometimes the approvals in Mexico takes years instead of months.
Sam: If it does happen, I have to believe that the 2/3 of the resort that isn't under construction will remain open. Of course, this would reduce the supply of rooms for that year, pushing the rates up pretty dramatically. This will be on a Mexican calendar, so our kids may have to deal with it! (Sarcasm)
Well they all go around the quiet pool like a U. So it would be on the side of the U that is closest to the sports and sexy pool.
will get better info when Steve visits with them and gets the more accurate version of the future chaos.. hmmm Booked mid March already, I guess thats a good thing.
If this turns into another big ass Cancun hotel where you meet people one day and cant find them the next day because its a maze to get anywhere around the hotel our days going to TTR would be done..We love the small size of TTR, the no elevators (I have a huge fear of them and havent been on one in 20 + years) and the fact of finding and meeting people is so easy because of the close quarters..just sayin
Steve posted this on December 29, 2013 - 10-months ago - http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/tem...-rumours-re-upcoming-renovations-i-heard.html Not sure why they are doing this as the resort is rarely sold out - maybe 6-8-weeks a year so they will be sitting on a lot of inventory unless they plan on dropping prices.
