Temptation First Time Visitor Report and Review

Transportation
Steve recommends USA Transfers and he is right. We booked this online in advance, paid the deposit.When we arrived at the airport we walked outside and the USA folks were right there, called for our car, walked us to loading point and we were off.The driver was excellent and very friendly and helpful.Pick up was on time, no issues, courteous, and quick to airport.This was much better than any of the other multiple Cancun trips we have made over the years with other services.Steve is right to recommend these folks at USA Transfers.

Temptation
When we arrived my wife was a little apprehensive about the hotel. As you all know, it is an older property and they could probably update the décor by about 15 years.The bell men were right on it and very friendly.We arrived at 11:30.I asked for an upgrade to my room category, negotiated the nightly increase, made the deal and paid.We were in our room in 20 minutes from arriving.
Many of you may have seen the warnings about the slippery floors. I warned my wife repeatedly before arriving.On the way to our room right after check in, following the bellman with our bags, my wife slipped in the hall and luckily kind of slid down the wall but did land hard on her knee.Thankfully, no injury.The rest of the entire time we were on property, I always had her arm as we walked the halls, stairs, sidewalks, etc.I put towels on the floor in the restroom.In case you have not heard, THE FLOORS ARE VERY SLIPPERY.Be careful.

Room
We got a Temptation suite. Wife loved the tub and we loved the ocean view. The balcony is great to look out on the ocean.It was a wonderful view. Room was well cleaned every day.Air conditioning worked so well, we would have to open balcony doors when we were getting dressed as you could not regulate the temp or the fan.It simply blew really cold and blew hard.

Restaurants
When we first arrived we went to Margaritas for lunch. The décor is old and the restaurant really looks like Cancun/Cozumel resorts of way back.This caused some initial concern about how the food was going to be for our stay.Margaritas ended up being great for quick bites of lunch to help absorb alcohol. For the rest of the stay, for dinner we ate at the Italian restaurant.We tried to get into the Asian one day, but even though we called at 11 am to reserve, could not get in. This was fine with me as the Italian restaurant is great.They have steak, wines, lobster, etc.Dressing up for dinner is nice.

The Parties
This was way more fun than we ever expected. As long as you get out and meet people around the pool, you will have people to talk to, dance with and drink with at the parties.If you do not participate, you are missing out.If you have never been before, the advice in other posts about: "Take something you think you would wear, then take something you never thought you would wear" is dead on.Dress nice for dinner, change for party after.
Participation in themes or clothing at parties: Always seemed to be about 40-60% participation.The Cancuncare participation was very small.On "schoolgirl night" the resrt was gold night. My wife put on her school girl outfit and we went all the way to Patty O's, looked inside and saw no schoolgirls.We went back up and my wife put on an awesome gold outfit and back down we went.Turned out there were 3 gals in school girl outfits.The participation in the Cancuncare themes is very dependent on how large of a group is there.I expect the big April, May October groups make a difference.

Sports Pool
This is the pool that is open after Patty O's shuts down. It is really weird how the security staff triples in size and they rush to the edge constantly to make sure everyone in pool is clothed.You would think they were guarding gold the way they watch the pool.

The crowds
There were several bachelor party groups and some other singles, but we never had any issues. All were well behaved.

Photo Shoot Service
Do it. If you do not like the photos, you pay nothing.Tony was the photographer and he did a great job.They start at $13 a photo but yu can negotiate the number.Tony is excellent at all aspects.After we purchased, the owner of the photo setup, came and found us at the pool to make sure everything was good and we were happy with the service, price and product.They are great. Money well spent. They are located in lobby at the far end of the Timeshare folks, right across from the jewelry booth.

Massages
We did not do the spa massages. We did go to the first palapa to left on beach.We chose it because they have side curtains on their palapa.It is only $50/hr per person for couples massage and the massage was excellent.

Weather
We had 2 days of nice weather, one day of bad weather and one day of really overcast but no rain. It was funny how the rain caused everyone to get under the palapa at the pool bar. That many people in that small of a space really kicked off a party and meeting people.

Service/Tipping
My method is give anyone a normal tip, but once I find someone at one area that has a lot of snap and really knows customer service, I tip them really well and then you get great service every time they see you in the area. Ladislaf in the Italian, Jovani at the pool, Diana at the desk, Diana at Margaritas, Israel at the buffet/Margaritas all deserve a big thanks.They are great at their job and they smile doing it.

Cleanliness
I wanted to also say that though resort is older, they clean that place top to bottom every day. They were always moppng, wiping, dusting, power washing. They are serious about cleaning.


Conclusion
This place was fun as hell. We only booked 3 nights, and then had booked another hotel for rest of week because we were not sure how Temptation would be.Even though we had another high end hotel, we still came back and booked for Thursday lingerie night at Temptation.Temptation is so fun I was paying for two resorts. When we arrived, the bell men hollered hello and welcomed us back like we had been gone for months.This place is a lot of fun and we were fortunate to meet a lot of really great people.

We had also booked Boobs Cruise for 28th. Was concerned about it being on the day before we left. On Sunday morning we awoke, did not feel 100% (could have nothing to do with drinking Saturday night), but did not feel we could give the cruise the 100% participation it deserves. Hopefully next trip cruise will be at first of week we are there. Everyone we talked to said it is very fun.

 

Great report, remember next time take it easy the night before the Boobs Cruise. The April / May group of CCC members are very active in the special themes... hint hint

 

yes agreed but it was also 7 prior nights and mainly not wanting to be totally wasted day before our flight home

That is some funny sh##. We look on the bright side though, we have something else to look forward to on our next trip. We honestly were up till 3-5am every night and then at pool by 10 for 7 straight days. By day 9 we were wiped. When we do the cruise we want to bring our A game.

Your wife should have stuck to the school girl outfit. I think we ended up counting 8 plus a couple guys as nerds. We will head back in the spring
