I guess this is more for long time vets.

A recent post/picture of 'the old Nice Shoes' got us to thinkin, if Temptation was better 8 yrs ago or more, or better today.
(Memory may suck but I think rsort name changed 8 yrs ago)

Were the BBG days really as good as we think?
Or has the evolution of TTR been for the better?

Curious to see others' views, and why the new, or old, is better.

Personally we think it keeps getting better in many ways.
But we sometimes miss the charm and wildness from years goneby.

So, we really miss the Blue Bay Getaway! There's nothing actually wrong with the here and now as is Temptation but I miss the days of the Chinos and gang entertainment staff and the feeling we found our own private special place.

I liked the Blue Paint scheme and mostly the name where you could say Blue Bay Getaway and it sounded like a fun resort where as now when you tell people Temptation you always get the raised eyebrow and have to explain everytime.

The people that go to TR make the place fun. We have been going since 2000 the entertainment staff has been good at times and ok at times. Omar, Chino, Nicki, T Lalo, Nathan, Brenda, Paloma, Dannie and others were all good in there own way. I'll say it again it the folks that go there that make it fun. So while I'm there in October don't be a stick in the mud we will have a blast.

Overall the place has gotten better over the years but there are some things that have been replaced that I do miss somewhat. I kind of miss the design they used to Have in Paty O's (Tiki roof as opposed to the more modern steel and tarp set up. Oddly enough I sometimes miss when the bar closed late at night. The people staying up had to band together and bring out (or go on a beer run) their own stash.

    I would say gradually getting better ( and more $ :( ) ,,,
Did get a scare 2 years ago when security almost killed the TTR theme.

Donald was it more fun when it was cheaper and less fancy?
That is where we bog down in the debate.

or we could ask is it getting more $$ because of the upgrades , or because of the increased demand brought on by the large groups of CC peeps showing up in large numbers.???

TTR has always been a good value for the money to fun ratio in the past.

Changing the $$ amount doesn't affect the fun, just the value part.

Paying 160 @ night is more fun then paying $330 @ night. But that fun is experienced at booking time .

I find the actual fun experience is greatly influenced by by the people you meet on a particular trip , not some ugly ( but comfy ) red chairs.

    This bog is getting thick........

This is what I have been wondering about too! The 1st time we were there it was BBG. The last time we were there was 5 years ago and of course it was TTR. I've been wondering what to expect since 2009, what's new, who's new, and what changes can we expect to see? Last time I remember the biggest thing everyone talked about was "Nice Shoes" now don't see that as much being talked about.
