Since we're on the topic of weather, I'm digging the Cancun forecast for Octoberbreast -- mainly upper 80s and low 90s. Of course, we're still over a week out so anything could change, but the temps have been trending up over the last month from low 80s to now upper 80s.
Woohoo. ..it will be around 24C here today (around 75 F). Glad it's decent after our snowstorm a couple of weeks ago...for my final few sleeps till TTR! This time next week I will be boarding my flight to partyland!
I seen that too! I'm trying not to jinx us LOL but its looking pretty good. I'm also addicted to the National Hurricane Center. I don't know what me checking it 10 times per day is gonna do but it seems to make me feel better so I'm going with it LOL
I'm so sorry to hear that, Darin and MelIssa. I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs from Illinois!
lol. I do the same thing. I don't think of it as over planning though. I just want to get trip insurance if and only if the risk goes up. They do a 5 day hurricane outlook so you can see if storms are building and get an idea if there is any risk at all. I figure if one starts to build then I will pay the $156 insurance to cover myself, even though there really is no way of seeing/predicting this far ahead whether that storm will come anywhere near Cancun. Just makes sense to be sure you are covered financially if the risk goes up. Currently there are no storms predicted to even start in the next 5 days.
I haven't freaked out about checking the weather as much this year. I've been too busy lol. I did look yesterday at the extended forecast on accuweather and it looks pretty good so far
I won't comment directly on the hurricane worries because I don't want to jinx anything, but living on the Gulf of Mexico as we do, and getting daily "tropics" updates from our local weather folks, I'll just say, I like the conditions in the Gulf/Caribbean. Take from that what you will.
Ya...I'm so far away here that its a different world up here. I think that's why I have to look a bunch of times a day. I feel like the 'locals' would have a better feel for the forecasts. I have family that lives 3 miles from the Gulf of Mexico (Crystal River, FL) I'm like if you hear anything let me know Nikki
