I just want to start by saying this is my first thread. My husband and I have been going to Temptation now for about 5 years. He is a recovering alcoholic and has been sober for 20 years in 2014. I am very proud of him for this accomplishment. I never knew him when he drank but am glad I didn't know him at that time due to the stories he tells me. Temptation works for us as I love to drink and he loves to eat...LOL. We also love the people at Temptation as they are the friendliest people you will ever meet. We love that we can be ourselves at Temptation and no one cares or gives a shit what we do. We will be there the week of September 22-27, so if you see Steve, please tell him congratulations on his accomplishment of 20 years and ask him to tell you a story. He will be the red-head with the word FREAK Tattooed on his back and the black bubba cup in hand.
That's Awesome!! We get there a couple of days before you. I'll be sure to find him and congratulate him in person.
We get there a week later so I will add a congratulations on here. Proud of you Steve! That's a huge accomplishment!
I applaud the stones and willpower it would take to knowingly book a reservation at what could be Pandora's Box for Super Steve. He could choose to whine, be selfish, and not let you have your fun, but men will do extraordinary things when supported by great women. :daveandmo: Virtual Cheers to you Steve. Um, the one on the right is some frothy NA drink. We'll follow it up with the real deal next Thursday.
Great Women I agree with you on the support as I have been with him for 16 of the 20 years. He has just as much fun as me at Temptation even with the NA drinks See you Thursday.
I've met a bunch of folks who are non-drinkers at Temptation and other places, and they have as much fun as anyone! Congrats on the sobriety!
Staying sober for a week at TTR should count as a year towards his sobriety. Good job and keep it up.
Please tell your husband he is an inspiration to people like me. I drink beer every day, and want to stop. The problem is everyone I know drinks.. But I have much respect for your husband, and wish you all Gods blessings! AJ
That is wonderful and congrats to him for the will power and strength he has to remain sober for all those years. I like hearing stories like these...thanks for sharing
