What are you afraid of? What did you read that concerns you?

If you post a link to the review, I'm sure there will be plenty of specific feedback...

Read through a lot of posts on this site. Also read some Trip Advisor reviews. What you'll see as a common thread are:
    1. Temptation is sort of like a frat party for adults, with people letting loose, getting drunk, and doing wild & crazy things.
    2. A lot of women will be topless. That appeals to most of the people who go there. It disgusts a lot of the Trip Advisor reviewers. There will be occasional nudity involved in some of the poolside games.
    3. The people are the friendliest bunch of guests you'll ever meet anywhere.
Both Trip Advisor and this site (Cancuncare) give a pretty accurate presentation of the resort; the difference is in the type people writing the reviews. A lot of the Trip Advisor reviewers hated Temptation. The people on this site pretty much love it. Temptation is what it is; an adults only, sexy place which is either vulgar and disgusting or a hell of a lot of fun and an overall great time. Depends on your perception.
Your experience at Temptation will depend on which category of person better describes you. You might love it, you might hate it. Really hope you find to to your liking. But it all depends if you're looking for wild and crazy, or not so much. There is a quiet pool area (I've been told), but truthfully, if you're not looking for the wild and crazy, there are probably better options than Temptation. If the wild and crazy appeals to you, you'll love it.

Temptations is what you make it!
The food is great and we've meet so many people that we actually call friends.. Never have we come across people like that anywhere else (we travel a lot)
You can make it quite or you can get crazy..
Yes you will see lots of boobs.. And not everyone has a perfect body.. But every one is made to feel great!
Your trip will be what you make of it! (Last trip there was a honeymooning couple that had no idea either! They had the time of their lives!)

I couldn't agree more. My wife & I met amazing people on our first trip last year. We didn't know what to expect. Especially because of the trip advisor reviews. So glad we went & we are going again in 48 days!

Not sure what it is you are worried about exactly? But I can add some of my basic thoughts on what could be concerns after reading trip advisor reviews:

    1. Are you looking for a calm alone quiet trip after all the stress of the wedding? - TRR is defiantly a party place, that’s the mindset of most of the people there, and people tend to hang in groups, as opposed to a couple alone on the side of the pool together. However, if you want to be alone, you defiantly have the option at TTR. The quiet pool can easily allow that to happen. Or you can go down to one of the more secluded spots on the beach. I feel you have choices at TTR and can make the resort however you want.

    2. Food - The food is really good, but not amazing. I have pretty high standards when it comes to food (Italian, dad was a professional chef, wife is fantastic cook/baker, I also have skills in the kitchen). I liked almost everything at TRR, knowing how and what to order helps. On my honeymoon I stayed at the Grand Royal in Rivera Maya, the place had 5 star quality food (venison(deer) steaks, huge lamb chops, porter house steaks, prawns, veal), TRR is not that high end, but was defiantly way better than I expected from a resort that was less than half as much $. I even find the buffet very good for brunch.

    3. Swingers - probably what people are most concerned about from reading reviews on trip advisor. I was even a bit unsure. I would like to think I pretty easy going and I can handle someone pressuring me/the wife. But this doesn't happen. I never met anyone that was pushy in this way. You could be hanging out with someone for days before finding out they are in the lifestyle. If someone asks, it is normally in a fun/funny way, and you can just say that’s not your thing. Especially if it is your honeymoon and you just had sexual relations for the first time ;)

    4. Sex in public - This isn't even aloud. You don't have to walk around thinking you are going to see public scenes at every corner. Now this isn't to say that a rule isn't broken here or there, but it never is in your face.

    5. Late nights/Noise - again you can do what you want. Bed early, stay up till 5am, whatever! If you do think you want it quiet, make sure you get a room away from PatyOs. I suggest ocean front, something in the 5000 block.

    6. The beach - it isn’t breathtaking, but it’s a nice beach. I think I went on it once my last trip. I prefer a pool anyway. Especially if it is full of people drinking

    7. Ages/Couple vs. Singles – People range from 25- 80. Most, I feel, in the 30-50 range. Mostly couples, with singles mixed in. When I was there before there wasn’t large groups of singles, bachelor parties, or spring break college kids. I could care less either way, cause I hang with a variety of people in my regular life, but different times of the year could vary.

    8. Boobs - Yea there are boobs, and they are all different, and they mostly are in the sexy pool. Is your new wife is going to yell at you if you look at some, get some wraparound sun glasses, because you know you’re going to look. I hope not you don’t get yelled at, it isn’t like she doesn’t checkout dudes six packs! It’s hard not to look...they are right there. But it really isn't that big of a deal after 5 minutes. Will your wife take her top off? Who knows. Mine only does it for games and parts of the Boobs Cruise. No one pressures either way.

    9. Penis - Yea you might see one(in some crazy game), it happens. You have been to the locker room before? Unless someone is trying to touch me with one, they stopped being a big deal after 9th grade. Again you can hang at the quiet pool if you want to avoid this all together.

    10. Dancing/Night life - they have shows, they can get R rated, and so can the after party. But it’s all fun, and again not in your face and uncomfortable. People party all night. Some dance, some like the sidelines, some just like to sit and chill. It is loud and can get a bit hard to talk at points.

    11. Kids - there is none! you defiantly don't want these little people around on a honeymoon anyway.

    12. People - the best part of this place! That’s why people go year after year, if you are a social person, and like to have fun, then you are golden at TTR.

    13. Honeymoon pictures – you might not get 100s amazing pictures of your trip to bring home and show the parents. If you get up in the morning before craziness begins, then you can get some of the place. Also, you could book a shoot with the photographer onsite. My honeymoon I took 300+ pics, at TRR I took like 30, and most of them where when we were out doing excursions. It is nice to have pics on your honeymoon when you are all dressed up and looking nice, and I am sure you can get them at meals and at night at TTR when you go out. It is just the day/pool/beach pics that are a bit harder to get.

In conclusion, I didn't go to TTR for my honeymoon. But I wish I had. I am a fun and social person, and so is my wife. Not really into all the mushy love stuff for an entire week. We found ourselves bored when bars closed at 12 on our honeymoon. I mean the resort and food was great, but I found myself wanting more fun. TTR would have given us more options. Also, remember you can always go on day long excursions, so if the resort is too much for you sometimes and you want a break/change, just go out or go to the quiet areas, and eat meals as a couple. I really do think you have everything at your fingertips at TTR and you can do what you wish with it.

If you are a "stick in the mud", trying to read books all week, or if you're newlyweds that could be the jealous type...then maybe you might want to switch your trip around. I’m not sure how you booked the place not fully knowing, but rolling the dice could really be worth it.

PS...(because I think this helps put things in perspective of who wrote this) I am 32. Elyse is 31. I’m from Philly. She’s from Delaware. We love the beach anywhere. We were 28-27 when we got married after a 7 year relationship. We now have a 3 year old. First trip to TTR was last Sept, 2nd trip is in two days. My honeymoon was $5500, each trip to TTR about $2300 (so obviously there are certain resort/food quality differences).

Congrats to you. Get ready for wedding planning hell. Good luck in your future. I hope this helped a bit.

Remember to check out the review section we have here:
Temptation Cancun Reviews Forum | Cancuncare Forum

There are over 250 reviews there, largely from satisfied customers that did their homework before going. Bad reviews (although seldom) are included too.

I find with TripAdvisor that a lot of reviews are from people that did little to no research on where they were going beforehand and ended up at a place that was not suited to them.

There probably isn't a resort in all of Mexico that is more fun than TTR! You will have a fantastic time. She can go topless or not, nobody really cares! You can join in all of the crazy fun at the sexy pool or just watch. If none of that is for you the quiet pool is really quite quiet.
