The Second Night Curse got me this time around when a group of Seattle Seahawks fans forced me to drink shot after shot with them while we talked football. Candace had Dinner for One that night.
The Asian is our favorite, with the Italian a close second. They both require reservations but if you eat later you may get a table without one The seafood restaurant is pretty good and so is margaritas and do not need reservations. Last choice for us is the buffet, but don't be afraid of it, its not bad.
I was thinking of calling TTR between layovers to see if we could get reservations. We should be there around 5. I'd hit the Buffett but it's my wife's Bday so wanted to something a little nicer. Has anyone tried calling the day of travel and if so were you able to get reservations?
I've called later and gotten in before, it's worth a shot!! Also a $20 at the door does amazing things sometimes. We've seen empty restuarants where they turned people away at the door, $ can fix that.
no you won't be able! But bot are REALLY GOOD ! don't forget the sexy coffee at the italian one! And for a first night the seafood one or tex mex are both good
everyone has given great advice, we have found...that sometimes they will gladly squeeze you in, with and sometimes without tip, But your odds are MUCH better getting in at 6 when they open, versus later around 8...almost no chance then most nights
Tim Beck is right. It's worth a shot. But if not, show up when you're ready to eat. A ten will get you in. 20 is super generous. There's always tables available and it always works. Italian is our favorite with Asian close second.
That won't work as you need a room number. Be patient. Go to the fish restaurant, no reservations required, just wait for a table. :daisy:
Its your wifes Birthday! Be sure to tell them so as you tip your way through the entrance! We always go in March for Lolis Birthday. Its easy. A bunch of people who made reservations are going to be really drunk and sleepy and not show up at their appointed time. It's not cheating to tip. Its good sense. Happy Birthday to your wife! :birthday:
It is also unclassy to just show up and think a tip gets in. It is a reservation resto for a reason. Empty tables are empty, because they have had 2 seatings already that night. A waiter is expected to serve a table twice per night. The kitchen is alotted 120 meals. Taxing the staff doesn't endear the matre'd to his staff just because a pompous tourist flashed some cash. The waiters and chef have an expected workload each evening and that is calculated when reservations are filled before opening. There are only so many reservations per night. Don't expect you just show up with cash and it works evry time.
