When I booked our stay through expedia, I paid for shared transportation to and from the airport. Should I make reservations with USA Transfers instead? Also, how far of a drive is it to TTR?
How much did you pay? Is it possible to cancel and get your money back? If so then USA is probably a better option. If you cant get your money back, maybe stick with it this time and remember for next trip. Airport to Temptation is about 30 minutes the quick way and up to an hour if they take the long way through the hotel zone and drop other people off on the way.
Just an update: I went with Canadian transfers for the fact the take Canadian money at par if you pay in person. It was 50 Canadian. They were great, on-time, and nice. Also a nice bonus is that they have cold beers for 1$ a piece on the way. Only complaint would be that they have to come 3 hours early on departure. But better to be early then late. Might save Americans money to get Canadian converted at home and use Can. Transfers.
FYI - we're Canucks as well and use USA Transfers all the time - they charge the same rate if you pay in USD or CAD(at par) - we have always paid them in Canadian$$.
Definitely, USA Transfers also accept Candian at par. The owner of USA Transfers is actually a Canadian from Edmonton. The owner of Canada Transfers is a Mexican ex-employee of USA who not only copied the name concept (as well as the accepting CAD$ at par idea) he also stole several of USA's vehicles to launch his business. Legal action is pending and I don't expect Canada Transfers to be around much longer. Transfer companies are also not permitted to carry alcohol in their vehicles at the airport, although some obviously flout that.
I used Best Day last year, but plan on trying USA this year. Do you pay in cash when they pick you up, the full total or do you pay second half on trip back to airport?
We got a package Deal thru a agent , flight, hotel, transfer and travel insurance, for one price...transfer is with Best Day Travel so will just have to suffer ... we fly into Cancun at 11:30 so hoping to be at the hotel by 1 pm the latest...
Usa transfer We always use USA Transfer for the last 13 trips. The first trip we use the Expedia provide group van and we where the last ones dropped off and first picked up returning. During the trip both ways, the operator made sure to point out that we were from TTR, that wild place were you don't have to wear clothes. Second trip we booked thru the hotel but was expensive but direct. The last 12 times USA Transfer without a hassle and it is quick, professional and always on time for pick up. FYI: be sure to tip these guys, these guys make their money on tips, much like other service positions in Cancun.
You pay the full total in cash (round trip) when you get to TTR. On the way back to the airport you just have the driver tip. Have done this many times (paid full price on the airport pickup) and have had no problems - EVER! Firm
