Ahhh guys, i really hope you get you're over due honeymoon/birthday trip! Just as mush as i hope we get dough to come! Lol! I mean in my job i get a half yearly bonus, that, in hindsight, would pay for our flights and half of the trip however we'd still need to find £800 which is still alot of money! :aktion040:

    Hey Trish!

Yea i know what you mean! I have to say, we afforded this trip easier than the first one because when we came last year, we had a 24 hour delay on our flight with Thomas Cook and i complained, got our flight cost back so were refunded like £1200, that was out flights and deposits with Alpharooms paid, we still had to save £1600 or so though for the room, spending money and transfers (as i my friend and i ended up booking a tundra limo as a surprise for my wife and 2 friends!) All in all we did it, i wouldnt say comfortably, as like you, we go without alot of other things throughout the year to afford TTR!

Yea i looked into 7 days, 10 days and 2 weeks, i agree, very little difference really between going for 1 week or 2, being from the UK the bulk of our cost is the flights!

Who know's - something may change! I may be able to talk Morgan into it. She wants to go so bad too, she just doesnt want the stress of us being nearly on our arses for the 10 months in the run up ya know! There are other things we wanna do/experience!

    Meh...pass me the :ernaehrung005:

We also don't buy birthday or annivesary gifts most the time. If we do they are inexpensive like just going out to dinner, no where fancy. It all goes toward our December trip!!

Trish is right, you can't beat the prices in early December. First two weeks of Dec. have been our travel weeks of choice for the past 10 years!

I'd love to try out December, but it's really difficult with work commitments as i am one of 3 consultants and there always has to be 2 of us here, and as you can imagine around Christmas time, it's difficult to get the time as more than likely, you're colleague wants the same damn day! assholes! Lol :aktion040:

I paid £1450 for a week to TTR at the end of July. My ex won't have his children for longer than 2 weeks, so I can only ever do 7 days. And I Don't think my liver could cope with 2 weeks!!! You might find Europe and Glastonbury will soon mount up, and your TTR trip could've been a little more affordable. This summer I was supposed to be doing boring stuff like home repairs and thought f@@@ it, I need my TTR fix. At the end of the day, you do what's best for you. Happy days.

Did you try to get a referal ?

for us, by booking a referal, I save over 1000 $ canadian for a 10 days.

    Here from ottawa to TTR.
    my airfaire for 2 was 1200 $ + 10 days was 1700 us $ ) = 2900 $

The trips itself on redtag.ca was 1900 $ each.

So as I'm looking for a referal from us and friends again this year. just for the flight it's less than 2K for 4. :)

I was actually talking to someone on one of the Facebook TTR referral pages, i asked about getting a price for 2 referral weeks and gave 2 sets of dates to see which was cheaper, a lady got in touch, gave me a price and said i wouldnt find it cheaper, not even a standard trip to TTR without the Premier benefits, looked on Alpharooms.com and Kenwood Travel and noth prices came out around £300 cheaper! Told her all of this, she asked me to screen shot it as the premier people said they would do a price match then never heard form ehr again...?! Lol. So out went that idea!

I really don't fancy travelling so far for 7 days in all fairness. I suffer terribly with my back and am awaiting surgery so the flight is a killer and it always takes me a day or two there and back to get over the travelling. Yea for Glasto it'd be around £600 all in and European holidays, we looked at a villa in spain for £300 each (based on 6 sharing) so doesnt quite hit the £3000 mark, but i see where you are coming from. I do love our TTR fix and the thought of not going is a killer but at this moment in time! We are gonna go with the more for less option! :)
