So after visiting last year for our Honeymoon, this year for our anniversary and even started to lan next years trip we've begrudgingly decided we won't be coming to TTR in 2015 unless something major changes, money wise that is! As we are from the UK, it costs us near on £3,000 with spending money to come, and after savings like crazy for alomost 4 years straight what with the wedding, honeymoon, moving and our anniversary vaction this year with our friends, we've come to the conclusion we need some time off hardcore saving as it's stressful! TTR in my eyes is worth it, however we've decided to travel some of Europe in 2015 and go to Glastonbury together! I'm looking forward to it, don't get me wrong but visiting the forum today and seeing all the conversation about how amazing TTR is and how cool all the people are, plus the fact we know this so well ourselves, has depressed the hell outta me! I need a Lottery Win! I'm hoping something changes and we manage to sneak a trip in, even if it's just 10 days instead of our usual 14 because TTR is like an addiction, and being told you arent gonna have your annual fix is a killer! :sauer005::aktion060:
Bummer! But I totally understand. 14 days is a long trip. Would 7 days be worth it? We have never stayed anywhere longer than 7... For us, From Michigan in the US it would cost us about 3800 to go for 14 days with air. I agree saving all the time is really stressful! Makes it hard to enjoy life!
Yea it really is a bummer, even more so because the original crowd we met on our first trip, who really made it special for us, missed this year but are goingback in 2015 and we were SO psyched to see them all again!! 7 Days - it's a 10.5 hour flight and a 3 hour drive to/from the airport for us so hell of long way 7 days but i wouldnt rule a shorter trip out just to go to TTR ya know!? And yes, you have got it right there, it does make day to day life hard to enjoy! :ranting1:
7 days at TTR is great. My recommended minimum. 14 days is Totally Awesome.. But in the big picture you gotta do what you can afford.
I truly understand..Our finances have been a huge struggle. We are hoping to do a 2015 Birthday/overdue Honeymoon trip. We're keeping our fingers crossed as we speak.
Get travel loan and have fun, who knows what happen tomorrow. I like this American mentality, enjoy and pay it later lo
I know how you feel..... That is what the hubby and I did for 2014 :-( :-( :-(. But on the other hand we are building a house so.......... We are SERIOUSLY HOPING to come in 2015!!!! And if for some strange reason we can't....you might find me trying to sneak in someone's luggage!!
We're exactly the same! First trip we were hooked, so always found one way or another to scrape the money together for subsequent trips. For example, we don't buy anniversary, birthday or xmas gifts for each other anymore - TTR is all 3 of these gifts to ourselves wrapped into one sexy package! Also, we always go back in November / December as the prices are a little cheaper (being winter) than spring / summer months. My life would be miserable if I didn't have that trip back once a year to look forward to. August is austerity month for us, as that's when the holiday balance gets paid off. We live like students, eating whatever is lurking at the bottom of the freezer and a lot of tinned beans! I'm even considering doing a car boot sale this year to help us get by. I managed to find a new job earlier this year though, and it pays better than my last, so hopefully this is the last year we have to save like crazy to make it back. BTW, last time I checked, I think there's only like £400 or £500 difference between doing 1 week and 2. For that much, we've always just gone with 2 weeks as it's not that much difference in price but definitely a lot different in overall experience / enjoyment.
